Oh no!
Can't believe you have sold it!

Does this leave me the only V8 Land Rover within the M25?

Please don't tell me I'm alone now!

Noel.

Hope you don't mind if I stick my oar in here, because mine is the same - starts easily from cold, idles smoothly, and if you drive around with a light right foot and don't go over about 40mph, you wouldn't think there was anything wrong. If you want to get some speed up though, it just splutters wh...

I had problems with the ballast resistor last winter, and replaced it with a makeshift resistor pack I made up from some big wirewounds I soldered together (looked cack, worked ok though!) With the magencors that went on this week I also fitted a new plugs, condenser, dizzy cap, rotor arm, coil and ...

been distracted from Landrovering for a few weeks, but am sorting out my serious misfire prob.....
very gracious of you to recommend not buying your leads!, I have now got some Blue Magnecors, which have made a big difference - although there is still a misfire.

wots the spec exactly? what is the significance of the term "electronic"? Mine has a Mallory dual point dizzy and jazzy chrome coil, plus it currently has a mongrel set of various different coloured leads. I want to replace the leads with something a bit better so I can eliminate them from...

Hmm, bit too much sucking of air for my liking. You see I have this feeling there's a diaphragm somewhere that is leaking and that's why the air just circulates round the hoses and nothing happens! Is there like a vacuum servo that operates the diff lock? If it's knackered can it be replaced without...

Diff lock won´t engage

Hello! Quick question about the diff lock on my 1983 110 (v8 of course), which is vacuum operated same as a stage 1. I know it has worked recently, because I used it about Easter time. I make a point of engaging it every month or so just to make sure it works, or at least that the light comes on, bu...

Not done one, but there are loads of example circuits if you google for "split charge". Maplins also do a little module that (I think) does all the split charge stuff in one go. Anyway, the real reason I wanted to reply to this was to ask exactly how many revolutions you managed to hand cr...

Re: Ballast resistor hotness. I had some trouble with my ballast resistor. It had 'gone high' as they say in electronic terms and was at about 3ohms. This made starting very difficult because on my 110 the 'boost' feed direct to the coil during cranking doesn't work so it was was only getting a weed...

Take the connectors off the sender unit on the tank and short them together. If the gauge goes to full then you know the prob is with the sender. That's a start. If you've got a multimeter then connect it to the sender and check you get very low resistance on a full tank and higher when empty. That'...

That's it!! Think mine has been re-engined at some point and lost a few bits of what someone else thought was trivial, including the spray shield around the dizzy - this is a major pain as it makes running in heavy rain and spray very poor indeed. Very nice of them to have fitted a trick Mallory twi...

wish mine had one of them too..... winter running has been quite awful at times (especially during warm up) and I'm sure a bit of warmed air would have helped. Mine's just got an open hole at the front of the air cleaner box and no trunking or chimney thing. anyone who has one going spare - I will g...
