See the circuit diagram in either the Handbook or the Land Rover V8 Repair Operation Manual Supplement

Where are these rant tags you speak of? - might be useful!
(Ok, my youngest daughter just explained rant tags to me - I'll remember in future)

Re: ambulance
Cool. Welcome! I was going to suggest a pic but I'm sure I've just found it on the bay (where was my standing search last week ebay?): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Stage-1-V8-109-Ambulance-Camper-/380696498974?nma=true&si=TmlFn8bxRtD1fkDNulqmW2EAxaU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&...

Re: Newby Question: What is wrong with the LT95?
Every vehicle has a top speed. The top speed of my Stage 1s (unlike my old Series 3 109 2.25) is quite adequate for just about anywhere except possibly a German autobahn. If a quiet ride at high speed is more important to you than all the other things these vehicles can do, then buy a car. As I alre...

Re: Newby Question: What is wrong with the LT95?
I think the main thing is the four speed and ratios mean top end speed is limited. Limited to what? I've kept up with Range Rovers on the motorway at over the legal limit with a family of five on board plus dog and a fortnight's holiday gear, and overtaken newer Land Rovers on the motorway. If your...

Dunno, but if I remember correctly he wanted about as much money for it as you seem to be wanting to spend.

Re: Newby Question: What is wrong with the LT95?
I'm not complaining - I like my LT95s - I like pulling away in second and not having to change down much - if I forget and pull away in third or even top, it still pulls away. Can't see the point of buying a Stage 1 and trying to change it into something else - if you don't like them, why not buy so...

Thanks for replying disco. Yes, Speedograph Richfield in Nottingham are not far from me and they can either repair my speedometer to its original spec or recalibrate it to my spec, whichever's necessary. But I do like to know how things work and, when not working, why - it's an approach I've long si...

speedo worm gear
I wonder if anyone can help with any of the following questions:- 1/ Is there any significant difference between the LT95 gearbox originally fitted to 90, 110 and 130 3.5 V8s between 1983 and 1985 and whose serial number stamped on the rear of the transfer case begins 13C and the LT95 fitted to Stag...

Re: New Stage 1 Owner Needs Help
If you are going to change the wheels (are the ones you have damaged or excessively rusty?), then you must make certain they have the right offset. The Stage 1 has a different offset to standard series vehicles. 35mm IIRC. What's this about the Stage 1 having different wheels to standard series veh...

Re: Speedo cable broken!
I too would be interested if anyone thinks they have any definitive wisdom on this subject. The Series 3 parts book lists two cables specifically for the 109 V8: PRC1599 and RTC3495. Both are still available, the latter considerably more expensive. Does anyone know what the actual difference is betw...
