Hi Map, That is just one of the problems with trying to specify what springs to use and where. I don't think the manufacturer is necessarily trying to be evasive, they may just not know what the difference is between what they might normally make and Rocky Mountain since there are a large number of ...

The sender is not that difficult to adjust. When the tank is empty set the sender so that the gauge reads empty by undoing it from the top of the tank, take it out and bend the arm. Put it bank in and check the gauge. If it is not in the right place, adjust it again until it is. Assuming the tank is...

Howdy, In answer to your questions, in no particular order, I would say that: The fact that you are towing a horse float is not a major issue as to whether you stay with standard leaves or go for parabolics. The weight on the tow ball could be a factor though. Parabolics are used extensively on very...

Hey there Stirling. Happy new year. There was an article in LRO, I think, or LRM, last year (2008) in which a guy chopped a Disco into a ute. He used the back door as the rear wall for the ute cab and you could use the rear part of the roof to mate with it. There were some parts of his conversion th...

Hi, I hope to be going to both Billing and Peterborough in 2009! Why isn't there a Stage One stand I keep asking myself?! Hopefully my landy will be up and running.. fingers cross!! haha That'd be a grand idea, maybe a station wagon, ute with 3/4 canvas and obviously a hicap. A little rough,...

hehehe Probably a good idea. There are heaps of 3.5 v8's around and parts will never be a problem for them for the life of the vehicle. Treated properly they will go forever. On the Nissan front, if you were going to replace the suspension, and really the leaf springs are pretty good IHMO, I would s...

Brian Harvey, in our local club, did that with his 90. Disco motor, auto box, and transfer case. He already had power steering but the Disco engine has the pump anyway. New engine mounts, radiator, electrics, etc. Would require certification and needs to be done well and properly to be road legal. I...

The wikipedia page is interesting. So the 127 is really a 110 with a lengthened chassis. 127s were built on a special production line, and all started life as One Ten Station Wagon chassis (the model was initially marketed as the One Ten Crew Cab, before the more logical 127 name was adopted). These...

The TDi was a local conversion for the NZ deployment in Bosnia, ostensibly. The vehicles that were converted were also all painted UN white. As it happens none were protected against rust and from what I understand very few, if any, have survived to this day - although I have come across one that th...

NZ Army Stage 1 V8 manual
Just to let y'all know that the sys admins have very kindly made a NZ Army manual available at http://stage1v8.org.uk/manuals/010008iss5_1.pdf .
I think there are a couple of bits missing from it but I am checking on those.

Hey there Gary, It's the low radiator water sensor. It is connected to the centre console in the cab, and is in the same dial as the low oil pressure warning beacon. It works through having a closed circuit, i.e. water is in the radiator, then an alarm is sounded when the circuit is open, i.e. there...
