Re: Vendor Source for Rear Axle half shafts

I was thinking Ashcroft Transmissions here in UK might do them but could only see rear shafts for 90/110s. I don't know if these are compatible, probably not, but might be worth contacting them for a steer in the right direction though. Then there's DDE where Bryan is busy making various parts for S...

Re: Restoration

Brown is pretty important. Should be connected to the IND terminal on the alternator (IIRC). After a lot of digging, turns out the thin brown wire was for the battery sensing on earlier versions of the alternator. Mine should have Lucas 18ACR, which it probably is, which if I've understood correctl...

Re: Swivel pin housings

Have a look at the Design Development Engineering website. Bryan does a kit to address the issues surrounding Stage 1 swivel hubs/cv joints

Re: Restoration

I spent the afternoon with my multimeter, a photocopy of the schematic from the supplement, and some degreaser. I've managed to identify most of what I have. There's wiring for choke thermostat and switch of which I have neither, and the fuel pump supply seems to have a yellow cable instead of white...

Re: Restoration

It's been a good month since I last did any significant work on my vehicle. I resumed yesterday by fitting a replacement indicator stalk and screw in washer push microswitch. I'd threaded the loom back through the bulkhead and put the instrument pod/panel in place. Problem now is trying to unravel t...

Re: Restoration

I seem to have contracted a cold, eyes puffy and watering, sore throat, etc. so not much going on. Last bit of work I did was fitting the new fuel pump. I unbolted the pump from its location on inside of chassis rail behind driver and drained off the little petrol that was still in the line from tan...

Re: Restoration

Time to fit the carburettor I've had the new edelbrock 500 sitting in its box waiting to be fitted since last year. Time has at last come to bolt it onto the manifold and connect it up. https://i.postimg.cc/gj1PhcqS/IMG-20210611-153651.jpg Cleaned the tape off of the manifold that was covering the l...

Re: Restoration

Yeah, probably a spectacular waste of money. Shame I didn't search the forum on the subject and find your post before. Of course, I didn't realise then that there were part numbers I didn't have, so no reason to search then. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Anyway, silly money for a few short lengths...

Re: Restoration

Having fitted the radiator and viscous fan but forgetting the cowl, I had to remove the fan and fit the forgotten cowl. It needed a good clean, it was covered in dust and cobwebs. The expansion tank holder was covered in rust as were most of the nuts bolts and screws. After a lot of cleaning and der...

How to upload photos using postimages.org

Since the question "how do I upload photos here?" is often asked on forum sites like this, also, since photobucket pulled their premium service stunt a while ago, I thought a revised simple "how to" was made available to quickly refer to. I did this one for another forum I freque...

Re: Restoration

Pushed on and continued with rad etc. I dug out the grill top panel and tie bars. I had taken these off as they were assembled and left them in one piece https://i.postimg.cc/JzSM0rhG/IMG-20210601-140111.jpg It has suffered the usual corrosion... https://i.postimg.cc/D057w1WT/IMG-20210601-140132.jpg...
