Re: Second Row Doors

Ashtree Landrover will also make Series one-piece second row doors and two-piece second row door bottoms as a special order, and they will galvanise the frames. On my enquiring about two-piece second row door bottoms (which aren't mentioned on their website) they said, "We do supply those half ...

Re: Alice to the road!!

I bought one (NRC5069) from Dunsfold 12 years ago but they don't seem to be available any more. However, NTC3932 seems to be widely available and several sites state this is suitable for the Stage 1 V8, although I can't vouch for that personally. If you're persisting in looking for the original part...

Re: New project, with extended hangers?

Thought you might like to see what a 'civvy' Stage 1 looks like with that military-style bumper - if you're thinking of going for that (actually the machine gun turret might be useful round here too): https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3891/15402288752_368b80992d.jpg Land Rover 109 V8 by Geoff172 , on F...

Re: Stage 1 V8 for sale in Australia

If I was closer, I'd give $800 just for that work of art on the front - must be worth that just in scrap! :)

I understand the one at my local garage is for sale now too and that they want ten grand for that one.

Re: New project, with extended hangers?

I can clearly see leaf springs in the first two of those pictures, so I don't see how they can be Defenders.

Re: Rear fog light switch knob

Got one now - thanks Rob!

(If anyone's been following my ineptitude, I now realise that private messages on forums run on php88 software, like this one, remain in your outbox until the recipient accesses their inbox - doh - I googled it  )

Re: Diecast or model Stage 1

Not a model unfortunately, but it is a Stage 1 - pretty rare to see depicted at all anywhere:

(I was just given the keyring, and couldn't believe it wasn't a 110)

Heard nothing further from Robstal110 (pity) so if anyone's reading this, I'm definitely still looking.

Re: MRC 4462 - Battery Clamp, Early Type

Ok, these people have what they also say is NRC5338 (the 'later' clamp): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-Battery-Cover-Part-NRC5338-/191203325821?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c849b377d BUT it looks like mine that is the same as the one in my Parts Catalogue and it...

Re: MRC 4462 - Battery Clamp, Early Type

The clamp in one of my Stage 1s (both 1981 models) looks exactly like the one in my Parts Catalogue - make what you like of that - it was in it when I bought the vehicle in 1997 - but it might still be the early type - I can take a photo of it if you really want. The other one I have (also in the ve...

Re: Rear fog light switch knob

Sent a couple of private messages but heard nothing further, so I guess I'm still looking (only my first message seems to have been sent and all subsequent attempts have got stuck in the outbox for some reason, so sorry if this is just a communication problem)

Re: MRC 4462 - Battery Clamp, Early Type

These people stock the later type for the 109V8, NRC5338: http://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=9886 It looks slightly different to the one pictured in my Series III Parts Catalogue (June 1988) so presumably that is the early type. Why would this one not do fine? - I would have thought whether o...

Re: Auxiliary dash panel

The difference is that on both mine there is a moulded plastic dome-like cover over the auxiliary gauges, which I can't see present in your photos, and the auxiliary panel is designed to fit over this.
