Some very early 110's were selectable front wheel drive. A customer of ours used to have one, a HiCap if I recall. Not sure what the thinking was behind it - maybe a cancelled order?

It was weird seeing an all new 110 with 'permanent four wheel drive' but with free wheel hubs.

Where does the exhaust tailpipe exit the vehicle? A picture would be good. The 88 V8's have a unique arrangement. If it is a chopped 109 or replica it has been done very well, but why would it be in storage for 15 years, particularly as replicas have only been thought about in recent years? I believ...

This site may be of interest:

Looks like he has one of the T&T 88's.

Did the 88" V8 also use the Stage 1 steering relay? Surely that would be a dead giveaway as to authenticity, I doubt a bodge job would go so far to swop over relays.

Thanks for that Mark. Any chance of a picture of the underside to see what the locking mechanism is like.

Just in case I stumble across one this summer.

That sounds reasonable, anyone got pictures of this elusive lid? This is what I have (or don't have, depending upon your view): http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab316/pegasusparts/DSC00021.jpg http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab316/pegasusparts/DSC00025.jpg The 3 rivets are for the internal upri...

Did this ever get resolved?

I have the same problem, no lid, but evidence of something having been there, and no over-centre catch or holes for it.

There are no fixing holes to screw it down like the centre panel, so how is it secured?

ERC 6373 - Hot Air Intake Tower

As above, I'm looking for the hot air intake tower that fits onto the RH exhaust manifold.

It is the later type with the horizontal mating face, not the very early type at an angle.

Preferably like to source it from somewhere in Europe, not the other side of the world......

This is quickly taken from the 1986 Directory:

High Ratios:

RR = 1.174:1
101 = 1.174:1
109 V8 = 1.336: 1
110 V8 = 1.34:1

Low Ratio, all appear to be 3.321:1

The favourite mod was to swop to RR gear cluster.

109 V8 Salisbury Rear Axle Serial Number Location

As subject. Cleaned up all around the axle breather, top, front and rear of axle tube - not a thing, just rust. I would expect to see the remains of even one digit. Were the serial numbers stamped elsewhere? Rear axle serial number should give some indication of the build sequence and quantities of ...

That's the one.

Unfortunately as mere Pommie, I am unable to register on TradeMe and acquire this piece of motoring history - can anyone help?

No, not the VIN plate, I am after the instruction plate inside the cab.

I think it is supposed to be screwed to the bulkhead in front of the main gear lever. About 3" high x 6" long, black with white or silver lettering?

MRC 9563, Instruction Plate

MRC 9563 is the Instruction Plate about the use of diff lock and rolling roads for Range-Rover, 4-speed. I guess it is the same as 109 V8, although it does not appear to be listed as a part.

Does anyone have a decent one going spare? I removed mine as it was unreadable.

Regards,

Paul.

Hello V8_Disco, just replied to your first email. We were doing a quality inspection visit all day yesterday. Does anyone know if the early '6-bolt' Range-Rover Swivel Bearing Housing can be made to fit 109 V8? I guess the top Railko would have to be changed to taper bearing? But could everything el...
