The heater on mine was always good, you just had to wait a while for the engine to warm up before it had any effect, and with petrol prices so high, it could cost you a tenner before you even set off! :D In the winter I'd set off wearing a big coat and still be cold, 20 mins later I'd be sweating an...

I had heard that a rad from a Leyland (LDV) Sherpa V8 van will fit a Stage 1 with a little mod (can remember which hose boss needed moving though). I haven't tried it myself, but always remembered it for when I might need it. The Sherpa rad is a lot cheaper and easier to get hold of and even paying ...

I'm also hoping someone does know the answer to this. I have seen repair panels available for the footwells on the bulkhead and A-post etc (which are the bits most knackered on mine), but they are of course advertised for a Series III with no reference to Stage 1. I had a similar thought to Les abou...

Never mind Aaron, I've often thought that a smaller 4x4 would make practical sense for me too, but the lure of a V8 and the load bed of a LWB seem to always stop those thoughts (there is no logic to it! :) ) Just to add to this in case anyone else has the same question. You shouldn't need to change ...

If it's the same set up as mine with the oval filters at each end of the air cleaner box then the part number is: 605191 . The rubber gaskets are 511833 (although the ones I've bought always seem to have these included in the box). I've always got them from regular motor factors. Sometimes you have ...

Thanks for the reply. I have looked around and haven't seen any others with the holes. There aren't any corresponding holes in the main roof. I thought that they may have been from a roof rack, but can't see how it would fit and be strong enough. The holes look original and have been cut properly an...

I only really used it off road on club days in some god forsaken mud hole in Wales. I just know that if I don't have anything fitted, I'll need 'em. :) The last time I went, some poor sod got stuck in a mud hole. There were loads of people around until it started snowing horizontally and they all di...
