I like websites that aren't too cluttered and are clear and simple to use (maybe it's my age!), so good start. Needs more colour though.

I had the restrictors out on mine. Made a massive difference. I was told that LR put them in due to the suspension and brake setup on Stage 1's not being up to too high performance (probably very true!). There probably is a lot of sense in assuming that the engineers who designed them knew more abou...

No idea what type of locks the doors I've been offered have. I'll get a photo if I can and post it here. Maybe someone will be able to tell me if they're suitable.

I do quite fancy having wind up windows still!

How 2's

I am new to the forum, and have had a good look around and it's very good indeed. Glad to find that I'm not the only one with a few problems and a little frustrated getting parts etc. :D I have a suggestion though. On a couple of another car related forums I use (not for Landrovers), they have a &qu...

Do those issues with the striker plate only apply to the second row doors? Mine is a Hardtop, so will only be using the front doors and rear safari door. Basically, I can get hold of some 90 doors that are much cheaper than the Series door bottoms (that are completely shot on mine). Just out of inte...

VIN is SABTVR3433258169 I had a look on the DVLA website vehicle search and it reckons that year of manufacture is 1983, but wasn't registered until 1990! DVLA weren't very helpful when I enquired about finding out more info. The best they could offer is a Form V888 "Request for Information&quo...

Cheers for the help on that, much appreciated. I didn't want to spend the money only to find I was lumbered with kit I couldn't use. I agree with the sentiment about using and abusing them. Mine is far from OEM spec. anyway. I know 90/110 doors change the classic look of a series vehicle, but when i...

Door replacement

My first post on this forum. So be gentle. The door bottoms on my Stage 1 are completely knackered. I'm thinking of replacing them with doors from a 90. I'm pretty sure that this is straight forward, although not sure if the elbow room will be reduced. However, the rear safari door is just as bad. C...

The grille isn't rare. Never able to get my hand on a Stage 1 grille to replace it. Although always worried that a Stage 1 grille is a bit open and therefore prone to foreign objects going through it. LR bloke reckoned they had several Stage 1's at Lode Lane that were test wagons, and they had singl...

Newbie from Derby

Hi folks, very glad to find this forum. Just browsing through has answered a lot of my questions on my Stage 1 V8 already. Had my Stage 1 for about 10 years now. Just drove it at first as everyday car, enjoying the V8. Been working abroad, so Landy has basically not moved for 7 years and is now in n...
