I've also heard that the Sherpa one fits but I can't can't confirm from personal experiences. Below is a link to a rad supplier that shows a decent diagram of a Sherpa rad. Maybe see if you can compare the measurements of the fitting points etc. http://www.carcooling.co.uk/products/Radiator_Austin_S...

If you have clean sparkplugs on the non firing cylinders are they soaked in petrol? Have you checked the firing order? It should be 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 The left bank is 1 3 5 7 The right bank is 2 4 6 8 And the distributer turns clockwise with number 1 sparkplug lead pointing towards 5 o'clock or toward...

From what you have described you have ruled out engine and suspension. Also it doesn't seem load or speed related. So it must on the final drive i.e. between the gearbox output shaft and the wheels. It's a long shot but disconnect the speedo cable to see if it is that. What about the handbrake? Fail...

Could it be a spring or shock bush? If you have parabolics you'll have more movement even on a relatively smooth surface. Maybe try some silicone spray on the mounting points. WD40 would be better but oil doesn’t always agree with rubber although in moderation it should be ok. A slightly loose prop ...

As far as I know the master cylinder is the same across all the Series models. After that everything becomes model specific. You are probably missing this adapter 139082 – don’t forget the washer. http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/11/49/1/139082-ADAPTOR-BRAKE-CLUTCH-PIPE.html I can’t find...

The component you describe is the steering relay. This part is unique to the Stage 1's and is quite difficult to find a replacement if it is worn. The relay should be filled with diff grade oil (EP90) which is filled from one of the bolt holes in the top of the unit. I would separate the joints from...

Personally, while it is off I see no value in replacing only one of the three uj’s if it obvious that they are either original or appear old. From what you say in your post the one that has failed is one of the two joints in the double cardan joint so you really should at least address the both of t...

The front props are unique to the Stage 1's and are getting very difficult to find. There is one currently for sale on ebay!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/landrover-series3-stage-1-front-propshaft_W0QQitemZ260430860523QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3ca2e390eb&_trksid=p32...

I’m not sure how many actual manufactures there are out there but most of the supply chains seem to supply Britpart patterns but it’s anyone’s guess who actually presses them out. I’ve heard conflicting comments on the pattern tanks with regard to quality, but in design they are simple enough so it ...

Attached is a picture of Margo as promised. I apologise about the quality but I took it with my phone.

As soon as I get around to finding a better way of hosting pictures I’ll upload some more.

I think you will struggle to source a replacement lock unless you can find one 2nd hand. I wouldn’t be put off by not having the key however as you can get a replacement made simply enough. If you can remove the lock take it to a locksmith and have them make up a key for it. As far as I can tell the...
