Re: Overheating

My radiator is 6 years old. I used a temp gun and saw a reliable 20oF drop accross the core when running at temp.

Overheating

I packed up my truck with the intention of driving 8 hours from the Washington DC area to the southern coast of North Carolina to catch a ferry out to Portsmouth Island on the Outer Banks to do a little camping with a group of Land Rover buddies. I got as far as 2 hours from my house and had to stop...

Re: wanted the 2 front halfshafts for Stage One

You would be lucky to find some - and they will not be cheap. I recommend you do some searching around the various forums and learn about using early Defender outer shafts. I am using one on my truck - I have a little less than 2 years of service on it (4,000 miles - some of them being hard off road...

Re: 1980 Stage One Frame Swap

Long story - sad story. I will see if I can give a short version that in understandable. I was building the new frame up at a professional repair shop (friend of the Rover club) and I was taking apart the original truck at my house. I had to transport the body shell to the new frame as one of the la...

Re: West Australian Stage one Isuzu

There is a fellow over here that has just started importing Perenties - which I think have this same engine in them. He has found a small aftermarket turbo that bolts on very nicely and is tidy in the engine compartment. It is only a small turbo and he says that it is not an overwhelming difference ...

Re: West Australian Stage one Isuzu

That looks like a serious Kangaroo Bar there!!

What does that tiny badge on the lower part of the wing say? I have seen a few on the Australian and New Zealand Stage One's but I can never quite read them.

Re: 1980 Stage One Frame Swap

I have been posting updates on my regular forum about this project. The full story is at GunsandRovers.com But the short version is that I am finished (near enough to finished). I took it to an off road rally this weekend and drove it for about 400 miles. https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3946/340960227...

Re: Need help finding part

Alan - Thanks for the heads up on the NZ Facebook group. I joined and am watching now. I decided I would try to just repair the brace myself. So, this.... https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2790/33214334095_88afb41f73_c.jpg ... was cut like this..... https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2863/33330714345_3d4212c...

I have called around some more, and as said above, most people just tell me to make a new one or repair this one. I guess I see what kind of ham-fi...

Need help finding part

Capture.JPG (I am told I should be looking for help from my New Zealand friends.....) In the process of taking my wings off the Stage One as part of my frame swap, I discovered that the wing braces located underneath the wing are rusted away. The ends remain but the middle bit is severely eaten. I ...

1980 Stage One Frame Swap

Hey everyone - I have been updating my local forum with the progress on this project but it looks like I forgot to post something over here - where people might really be interested in a Stage One. I bought a Stage One galvanized frame from Richard's Chassis in the UK and had it shipped to me in the...

How can you tell a Stage One Axle?

Is there any way to ID a Stage One front axle just be looking at it? I know that the Stage One has large front brakes than a standard Series - but so did the NADA 6cyl 109's and I think the 1-tons. Most Stage One's also have the steering damper on the tie rods/steering rods - but this was an option ...
