Re: Finely my Series 3 Stage One (Belgium)
My truck is lighter than new Masai Red - it is the typical mix-match of parts and age. For example - the doors are new and were repainted in 2006 and the wings are of unknown age - I think they were replaced at some time in the truck's life. The shade variations may all be due to sun and age - it ma...

Land Rover Photos - Winter Romp 2015
I wanted to post up and share a series of photos from last weekend. Each year, the crazy folks in the East Coast of the US gather in Waterville, Maine for the annual Winter Romp (see http://www.winterromp.com). This year, the snow was deep (2' to 3' or 60 to 90 cm) and the temperature was cold (Temp...

Re: Finely my Series 3 Stage One (Belgium)
Slight hi-jack.... Did Land Rover make a POPPY RED Stage One?
I always thought my truck was Masai - but I bought some Masai touch up paint and it is a totally different shade.

Re: New project, with extended hangers?
One easy way to tell may be to ID the location of the first frame cross member. If it is close to the front then it might be a Stage One. If it sets back about 12 to 18 inches then maybe an Siii One Ton.

Re: Reverse light feed
IIRC - the reverse lights are powered hot with 12v+ and the switch on the transmission closes the ground leg of the circuit. (black wire)
I might be wrong - but I think that is how mine is wired.

Re: Is the bonnet the same as the 110?
yea... the metal on the underside is what is rusty and starting to need attention. I was contemplating a whole new (used) bonnet or going through the effort to pull the substructure out from my bonnet and repair.

Re: Ok, i may be going to buy a stage one (Pics)
Mike - Welcome to this Forum. You certainly have found a unique truck among unique trucks. It will need all the work you said it would and more (they always do). There are a few of us Stage One owners in the US. There is another fellow in Mass that has a 5 door. If you pass on that truck - can you p...

Re: Hub Nut Preload
That sounds tight.....? I was always taught to snug up the nut "pretty tight" and then back it off one quarter turn (or next nearest spot where the lock tab matches up) and lock it into place.
.... but if the manual says to torque it to those specifications, who am I to argue?

Rover Owners of Virginia Spring Event
Only my Stage One at this event - but we did have a Series III SWB with a 3.5 V8 transplant - so that is close.

So Potter installed a puller. Anybody do a pusher - to augment the belt driven fan?

Has Anyone Installed An Electric Fan on Stage One?
Has anyone installed an electric fan on a standard Stage One grill / radiator?
I assume the common install is to mount a pusher fan between the front grill and the radiator - but how / where is the fan mounted? What size fan (10"?)
