Electrical Help - Flashers / Relays
I am working a few problems at the same time. I do not think they are all related but I will break them down one by one. Flashers / Turn signals: They do not work. The 4-way hazard lights work. If I jump +12v power to the nodes on the indicator stalk - the appropriate light bulbs illuminate. I am co...

Re: How many splines are our axles
So my question only generated more questions..... such is a Rover story. I went out to the drive and pulled my rear axle..... https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1446/25071835354_16f20bc65c_c.jpg It looks like 1980 Stage One 2 door models have 24 spline rear axles... (... also super thanks to Uncle In-La...

How many splines are our axles
I got a line on a Detroit rear differential. Not to open the debate about auto locking diffs / limited slip diffs / air locking diffs and so forth..... The locker I am looking at is set up for a Sauls with 24 spline axles. I do not know what the standard Stage One spline count is (10 spline or 24 sp...

This is my seat box with the floor pans sitting in position. The box had just come back from the Line-X shop.

Re: bottom
Back to original post (although I do love solar panels).... There is a long thread on the Defender Source forum (old D-90 Forum). The worked with a vendor that made replica and custom badges for Land Rovers of all varieties. The link to the thread is here ==> http://www.defendersource.com/forum/show...

Re: Stage One refurbishment in Germany
Is there any reason you stuck with the factory carbs and the factory restrictor / throttle plate? I switched to the Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and it is a night and day difference - and my truck did not have the throttle plates in it when I got it. I have to think that you would get even better results...

Super Clean Stage One on eBay
This is not my truck and I have nothing to do with this.
My truck used to look like this - possibly 30 years ago. This one is super clean.

Re: Rover Owners of Virginia - Mid Atlantic Rally 2015
It was perfect for the trailer - for sure. It rained all four days and it was a bit on the cool side. The trailer kept me well high and dry (and the trailer has a heater to help dry things out). Sure - I am an Eagle Scout and have done all the minimalistic camping you can shake a stick at. But - no ...

Rover Owners of Virginia - Mid Atlantic Rally 2015
Here is a link to a bunk of photos from the annual Mid Atlantic Rally (MAR). This year, the MAR was unofficially renamed to Mud And Rain as it rained the whole week leading up to the event and most of the weekend of the event. You can see a few photos of my Stage One stick banging around on some tra...

Yes - Rovers Down South just sold to Safari Heritage (I think). I am not sure if the new folks are carrying all of the old Fairy parts or not.

Re: Prop shaft
Are you sure it is the prop shaft and not just the ujoints? I had a ujoint go bad in my front shaft once. It was hard to see the bad wear and movement while it was all assembled in the double cardon - but once I get it all apart the ujoint was revealed to be severely worn. Ujoints are cheap and easy...

Re: CV Joint - Replace Spring 2015
Alan - The bolt is grade 8 and the washer is standard hardware store. I used blue locktite on the bolt. If I used the proper axle and circlip - there would be very little metal holding the axle in (just the tiny width of the clip). I think (hope) that my alternate solution works just as well. As far...

CV Joint - Replace Spring 2015
I know we have a few threads already on the forum about CV joints but I wanted to start a new one to capture my process start to finish. I have a 1980 Stage One. There are a few changes with parts throughout the model over the years but this repair should hold true for most of us. My CV joints start...
