Because i'm changing the clutch, i'm thinking of butchering the old clutch to get the female spline section that goes on the gearbox input shaft, weld that on to a length of rod which I can put inside the chuck of a 2 speed drill. And bench test the gearbox out of the car to make sure all the gears...

I'm sure you would sell some.

I have a fairey OD in mine, and I paid NZ$200 and would not be able to justify 1200 pounds UK for one.

Although, I would be more than happy for you to send me one and to trial it for you. I promise to give rave reviews.

8)

Cheers

You can't buy a NZDF 24 V distributor from Mallory as Mallory never made it. Mallory made a basic distributor for the Rover/Buick V8 range which the NZDF purchased on mass and then modified to suit their application; external coil and control box, distributor vent, etc. I haven't found a listing fr...

The distributor is a Mallory unilite, and they make modules to fit internally, notably the 6100m e-spark which when installed in my dizzy (while not mapped) works absolutely perfectly. I got the information directly from one of the mechanics who still works at the trentham army base to this date, an...

pm map1275, twas he who did that.

Oh, and btw, forward that info on when you get a chance....

Having asked for that though, it is, with a module internalised in the dizzy, probably totally unnecessary.

Still, pretty cheap peace of mind....

I will post some pics, at some stage, but the diffs are awesome. Perfect swivels, no seeping anywhere. New nyloc nuts on both diff input shafts, what that means I can only guess, unless I take them apart. :D Although, now the other diffs are sold, I have to remove them, and fit up these ones. Damn!

I'll let you all know what they are like. 8) I'm going down to pick them up tomorrow, paid NZ$425 for both diffs, and a full set of wheels and near new tyres. Have already sold the diffs (less all brakes) out of my stage 1 for $550, so already a $125 profit with a disc brake upgrade, and 4 free whee...

Sold. I saw the trade-me lot but guessed the straps were the short (standard) ones. How does the heater tap fit in? I have a pile of the brackets for that design of tap. Sweet. Just pm me your address and we'll get it sorted. The valve just bolts up to the bracket, but I think they are stage 1 spec...

I got a good score today.

From our local internet auction site I scored a pair of new diff straps, a pair of carb rebuild kits, and, most importantly, a brand new heater control valve, and mounting bracket. All genuine Landrover gear. 8) $NZ39.00 plus freight. Anyone want a pair of carb rebuild kits? Free to anyone who pays ...

Nice-n-tidy. Where'd you get the parts, Segedin's? Nah, segey's was horrendously expensive. They wanted $190 for the module alone. I got the module for US$38, the coil was $US63, and the ballast resistor another US$16, all through ebay. All told, including postage it came to NZ$210, plus another NZ...
