Re: Speedometer

What about if a complete LT95 gearbox from a 110 is fitted to a Stage One?

Re: Restoration

I provided these part numbers on here last year:

Seems like a lot of trouble and expense to go to for the privilege of blowing non-heated air into the vehicle when you can just open the bulkhead flaps instead.

Re: Bumper wanted

D rings were a pretty common standard fitting on new Stage Ones. I've a number of Rover press photos from the time that show clearly if you blow them up that the rings were fitted as mine are described above. Here's the best such press photo I could find quickly online: https://www.autocar.co.uk/sit...

Re: Bumper wanted

The useless starter handle hole was nevertheless still present as standard on the Stage 1 bumper in spite of being completely unnecessary because it didn't line up with the higher starter dog - probably something to do with using the same standard stock of basic bumper before different brackets were...

Re: Bumper wanted

Sorry - I now realise that pic and my post may be a bit confusing - although not a genuine Stage 1 bumper in that pic, it is fitted with the brackets - hence two sets of bolts in the pic - a PO painted the galv brackets black to match their horrid bumper. It was a 90/110 bumper (not an ordinary Seri...

Re: Bumper wanted

The only brackets I have are fitted to my vehicles. Can't find any more now, and I am looking for some as I have more genuine Stage 1 bumpers. Should be easy enough to make if you have the necessary skills and equipment, which I don't. I have suggested it to v8alligator on here (Design & Develop...

Are those holes on your bumper for the built-in machine guns (007 style!)? I wouldn't mind some of those...

Re: CV joint

Thanks for replying. So you're saying it should be initially greased, even though designed to run in oil in actual operation?

CV joint

Another in my series of stupid questions. Hoping map or anyone with more knowledge of these things than me can answer. I bought one of these Stage 1 CV joints (AEU1828) Sold as NOS 'New other' due to 'signs of corrosion'. Resisted at original price but succumbed when considerably reduced. Arrived in...

Re: Gumtree again

I am starting a restoration of a 5 door here in the USA and I was thinking about choosing the white and sand color scheme but was not sure if there was enough contrast in the two colors to make it look ok. All sand is too monochromatic, I think. I like sand over red the most - but I already have a ...

Re: Speedometer

Thanks map (thought you'd know) That settles it as I thought - I had been labouring under a misapprehension (couldn't remember the number on my old Series 3 109 2.25 - probably never took any notice of it back then as long as it worked)

Speedometer

Stupid question time. Can anyone tell me if/confirm that the speedometer for the Stage 1 with the 1376 turns per mile figure on it is the same speedo as for the standard Series 3 109, ie part number PRC1775 in the Parts Book and now apparently superceded by RTC5035, which is marketed here as also fo...
