After Glencoyne have rebuilt my engine (3.9 cam, brand new SU's etc) and fitted high ratio gears, I use approx 12l/100 km when cruising around 90 km/h - pushing the load pedal of course affects this otherwise nice figure :)

As far as I understand they come from a time where the dampers didn't have rubber "bottomout" stop built into them - so they shouldn't be neccesary with new dampers, but both Rocky Mountain and Heystee advice to fit them

Thanks - but its really Glencoyne who deserves the praise - I just ordered it :) Oh, forgot to mention that in the process it was also converted to LHD - that was quite a challenge, considering the scarcity of some LHD parts.

The controls in the picture have nothing to do with the army :) They're just standard ways of selecting 4wd and hi/low on SII, SIIa and SIII with 4 cyl engines and std gearboxes.

I'm having the whole car rebuild, so I thought why not also change the alternator for a new one :0)

Huddersfield have two STW at the moment - one at 10k£ and one at 15k£ - but they do like very nice. Glencoyne is rebuilding a STW for me and converting it to LHD - that'll be much nicer, and not least galvanized :D

Dingocroft (01494 796001) might have them, or maybe Craddocks

Hi Noel,

I'm having one fitted by Glencoyne (my car is under complete surgery..), and according to him the quality and fit should be good. I don't know of any alternatives, though.

Andy, did you make the nice rocksliders yourself ? I've been looking for some sturdy rocksliders for my STW project, and have only been able to find a manufacturer in Canada - and the carriage to UK or Denmark were something like 500 USD...
Thanks
Michael
