Bits n Bobs

So far in for about £300 of sundries a few necessitated by the swap from SD1 to LR and to fix some previous bodges. Also a few bolts etc that were pretty manky and whilst they came out ok seems sensible at this stage to swap them for new. Water Pump and Crank Damper Pulley's Water pump bolts and was...

it's out

it's out! Manifold studs in one piece too.

Some remedial action needed to various bits in the engine bay so will do that and an order placed for a few bits and bobs.

A good weekend, including a shiny new MOT on the Triumph Spitfire too.

dizzy etc

looks like the Dizzy is for a RR of the right period so that's good.

Will need to check no if the dipstick is the same. Also can see why the fan was so close to the front chassis member now, the SD1 pump is so much lower. Will try an pull the lump today, bit worried about the manifold studs though.

Dizzy

The Dizzy I've got is a later post 76 and per the 1980's engine from both the LR and the SD1 with the correct slot and drive. Not sure what the Part number is though, will check that as the original Stage 1 dizzy is different being low a compression engine, the SD1 being high and the LR using 9:35:1...

pulleys

The new engine is a LR RR one. I've got the correct fan and coupling and the right new water pump. I've got the Stage one Pulleys and Damper arriving on Tuesday. Makes sense about the cowling now as it's seen some modifcation. The Alternator should now also sit in the right place.

Crank

the damper is from an SD1 and therefore doesn't have the crank cog, less worried about this, more so on whether it will line up or not with the water pump.

Engine Swap

Thought I'd do a new topic on this so we can follow the fun that is about to start. The "new" engine is now on a crate in my garage and armed with the parts list I've been ordering a few things: Water Pump All the Water Pump bolts (recon unit comes without the pump and as I've currently go...
