The standard tank and fuel sender for a Stage One only has straight 5/16" O/D tubes on new parts. You the need to purchase a new nut and olive to slide over them in order to connect to your plastic fuel lines. Of course, if you purchase a new Britpart tank, you'll need a good selection of tools...

The link previously mentioned is pretty good. You need to provide more information if you want answers to the other questions. The Series III body and chassis is essentially ambidextrous. So as long as you have the relevant parts, you can change it to suit yourself. There are oddball models but thes...

The engine bay picture in your link isn't very clear but you appear to have the standard 35 amp (18ACR) unit. These are readily available in the states as they suit countless British vehicles including some Ser III. Hand is the issue, plus the V8 has one extra (small) wire from the alternator in add...

Just bought a Britpart tank and it's the largest piece of scrap metal I have ever seen. Absolute junk.

If I could find a genuine item it would go straight in the bin.

The basic design/model; is the same but the hand is different I think. 17ACR or LRA100 Stage One is LH mounting Mini etc. is RH. There are two other Lucas alternators that will directly interchange and have higher outputs; A115 A127 ?? Both use the same plug but are also handed. You need to test the...

heater tap

Does anyone have a spare, or know of where to find the Australian Series III heater tap?

I suspect these are the same as Australian Mini and therefore impossible to get.

Window rubbers

Would anyone know the names or have links for window rubber suppliers in the UK?

Not for the Land-Rover. I need them for the side windows in my Metro and they're not available locally.

You may want to re read what you have written, as you have said it isn't the valve guides but it is. Simple answer in the first instance: head off new guides (all the consumables), especially as you have put new valves in! Otherwise you will have to do it again later, which is where you are now. How...

The low compression engine is intended to be capable of running on poor fuel. Simply changing the octane rating doesn't mean there is a need to change the timing. If you car is German specification, you will probably find you have emission laws to consider. If you are running duel fuel (LPG and petr...

Handbook running in procedures are intended for an engine that has already been factory tested on a dyno at RPM you don't really want to know about. Essentially most of the hard work was done for the new owner. The rest is settling in. You now have at best, a reconditioned engine. This requires you ...

Off the track a little but how is the new parts supply in Damascus?

Plenty of new, used or ex Army parts? As the rest of us have trouble getting certain items.

OK, so the Clutch Master Cylinder has failed (your fluid leak and what the garage repaired). They may have just replaced the seals instead of the cylinder. At a guess, I would suggest the Clutch Slave Cylinder and or the Clutch Flexible Hose is your next problem. If they haven't totally failed yet, ...

If you get really stuck, try Burlen Fuel Systems. Otherwise any Land-Rover parts supplier. Just explain that you want the screws and springs from an earlier Solex CD. ie a 6 cylinder Land-Rover. If they are smart enough to open the book and look at the pictures, they should be able to work this out....
