Re: Another red stage one in the Netherlands

Hello there Ton. Nice to see another Stage 1 being cared for. Welcome along. Forum's a bit quiet but to be expected since there are not so many of the vehicles surviving.
I never realised that the Masai Mara was in Switzerland! 😂

Re: Seeking Photos

Can't offer any help I'm afraid David, but that chassis looks absolutely lovely. Did you work on it to bring it back to that or did you acquire it that way?
Best wishes matey.

Re: Wanted: Exhaust Manifold

Ok, well I'm not in a rush so November is fine. Put me down for them subject to condition, price, etc. Photos of them to confirm they are the correct version when you can please.
I only actually want the LH one but will take the pair if you don't want to split.
Roll on November.

Cheers

Re: Restoration

Since the wheels I had sandblasted will rust if not protected, I got cracking today with the epoxy primer. First off gave them a good clean with detergent and then jet washed. A quick rub down to remove a couple of odd patches of left over crud, then painted on rust converter before degreasing and s...

Wanted: Exhaust Manifold

I'm looking for an LH exhaust manifold for a 109V8. The part number was ERC3458 and is now an obsolete part. If anybody has one, or one that will fit the Rover 3.5 V8 in a Series 3 'Stage 1' 109V8 (the twinned down pipes that bolt to the manifold can be modified but need to fit between the 109 chass...

No, but that would leave me without a RH manifold. You have me confused :?:

Re: Restoration

Having actually examined things a bit closer than my cursory glance, I see that the weld Eagle eyed Mike pointed out (LRUK Forum) is a bigger problem than I realised. Whatever was obscuring the "repair" was blasted away during cleaning. Not only is there a perforation in the weld, there's ...

Re: Restoration

Nothing very interesting, just fitted a new brake fluid reservoir, clutch slave cylinder, and plumbed in clutch. I bought a Borg & Beck clutch slave. The spacer came from L.O.F https://i.postimg.cc/5NMyryZn/IMG-20200928-121136.jpg Did the usual cleaning of the clutch pipe and fitted to the maste...

Re: Restoration

Back on it and decided to fit my nice new clutch slave cylinder. Spent hours trawling through every bag of bolts I have looking for the 2 M8s I took off and bagged. Absolutely no sign of them and could I find a couple of M8 set screws anywhere? No! It's enough to drive you over the top these silly l...
