Windscreen Seal Replacement, FYI

Hello All, Just replaced one windscreen. I was having issues with rain pouring in on me from around the windscreen. OK, needs new windscreen gasket. Purchased windscreen gasket. Bought extra just to be sure. 1 bag of about 5 meters. I purchased three bags. This gasket is supposed to straddle the win...

Re: Any US 109 owners on here?

Another State Side Stage 1 V8 owner in North Carolina. 3 door, Safari top.
When ordering parts!!! Make sure they are for the 109V8.... Not the four, 6 cylinder. Brakes are just one (of many) with very different parts.

Happy to receive you in the Forum.

Re: odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

Yep, will do. Again I went to fill up. Full tank..... Can hear the fuel pump clicking..... Would not start. I got two guys to jump start me. finger drilling everything, tapping the fuel pump.... countless attempts to start.... About 30 minutes later it started. It seems to HATE me filling the tank? ...

Re: odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

As for the sender, I just decided to buy a new one. The great thing with this vehicle is that it has all the paperwork on all parts replaced since 1980. The Fuel gauge was replaced in 2009. So I am guessing that is still good. I did a voltage test on the wire. Not a constant voltage? But I can adjus...

Looking into Roof Racks, Any suggestions?

Hello all, I have been shopping around for a roof rack. I know some say it addes too much weight, makes it sway, etc.... I get that. I can not imagine mine being without one. Question is..... Which to choose? I have seen the full welded packages, and the assembly required models (flat pack). I also ...

Re: odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

So in my second Hand hole, I am seeing the same main tank, and the cross member ? And NOT (what I think) is the main tank and an Auxiliary? It's like an optical illusion...... Well for me at least. What is your typical MPG? My sender is bad, My gauge reads full all the time. It is being replaced thi...

Re: odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

Well you maybe right then. I have not dropped the tank gaurd / holder to see. From the top, one is welded square, the other is has round edges. To further make things complicated, one is black (looks newer) the other is more older rusty looking. See pictures. BUT..... That is why I am asking. I coul...

Re: Where to buy Twin Zenith Carb REBUILD kit??

Well for the rebuild? The carbs have not been touched since 1996. Secondly, i have been stranded on the side of the road three times since I bought it. I purchased a new Facet fuel pump, next comes carbs being cleaned, new gaskets. It is clearly a fuel issue. I poured a whole bottle of "Sea Foa...

Re: Hello From North Carolina.

Thanks Firemanshort, I will keep that in mind. First I must replace my springs, shocks. They are in horrible shape. Also the fuel pump, rebuild the Carbs. (I already ordered the parts) Then I will be happy about venturing out into the wilderness. Let me know the dates, where? I am not an extreme off...

Re: Where to buy Twin Zenith Carb REBUILD kit??

Thank you Datsta,
I will order two now. I am guessing that this kit is for one carb, not two. I was about to order another kit for the CD 175 / CDSE but the gaskets were not right.

Thank you again!! -Matt

Re: odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

Sorry was refering to the Adobe .PDF page number (35), not the actual page number on the actual document. Actual manual page would be 1E 02. (PTO) PDF page 71 is just text of the V8 auxiliary. No picture on how it is hooked up. As for the Facet fuel pump, I already ordered a new one. I didn't think ...

Where to buy Twin Zenith Carb REBUILD kit??

Hello all, I have searched the group with no answers. I have searched all the usual websites for a rebuild kit for the Zenith Twin. All I see are the single Carb rebuild kits for the 2.25 Petrol Carbs. The internet is full of Triumph and MG carb rebuilds. Does anyone have a good resource for this Tw...

Re: odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

Yes, I did a search through the forum. Came up with nothing about rear Auxiliary tank, just under the seat kind. On page 35 in the LR Series III, V8 Optional Equipment Manual, there is a picture of the eact one on the drawing. This drawing is explaining the PTO, not Auxiliary. Further back in the Op...

odd auxiliary fuel tank questions

Hello all, I just recently have purchased my SIII V8. In a weeks time, the fuel pump (I suspect) is not working properly. In Famous British Fashion, I wacked it with a hammer, started right up. (Ordered a new one) Having this issue lead me to check out the whole fuel system. I have a normal rear Fue...
