b*gger

one of the exhaust manifold gaskets is on back to front so it sounds like a train. Just spend the last two hours trying to get the damned thing off again.

oil priming

Was a bit concerned about priming the new engine as it'd been sitting for so long and turning it probably moved the original grease packing in the oil pump. Purchased a tool that attaches to a cordless drill and the top of the pump which seems to have done the trick nicely - 30 secs of spinning and ...

Nearly... but so far

All in, watered and oiled. Oil primed, front panel back on, starter connected. Spun the new engine on the started, oils lights on and off. Scuppered yesterday by a water leak which took a while to find so didn't get a change to time up and see if it fired. My dodgy repair to the old carb held fuel s...

sales

Hi

Sorry for not pinging back a message in response to the one you send to landroverv8.com.

There's very few Station Wagons so it's going to be a case of looking and watching ebay as well as country specific auto sales mags such as Autotrader.

info

I'm asking a question here as I've dug around a lot of manuals and the descriptions and pix are not so helpful. Again I have the P/Ns but the spec is very vague on the take off. To clarify what I though was clear I have a current set of SU's origin unknown, and want to but a new set, I want to make ...

v8 Su's

I'm about to order a new pair of SU's for my V8 Stage 1 - these carbs ETC1722 and 1723 were fitted to Defenders and available as an upgrade for the the strombergs originally fitted to the Stage1 and RR's. Now making this assumption I shouldn't have a problem but I'm concerned about the Vacuum advanc...
