Define judder?

Backlash with take-up, or vibration in accordance with RPM.

The actual brand of universal joint will determine whether it has nipples or not. As many clients are tight-fisted, they buy what is cheapest. Whereas the very few always specify 'must have grease nipples'.

At a guess, you have either a charge problem or an earth problem at the dash.

You would hope that OP gears would have a bearing finish but the don't. From what you have described they need to be replaced. The end housing has worn through the anodised finish and also needs to be replaced also. Though I I doubt you will want to pay for this part. It would also be wise to remove...

OP relief valve governs maximum OP, nothing more. When OP exceeds spring pressure, the valve opens, returning surplus oil to the sump.

OP specs are covered in your workshop manual.

If you have it apart for any reason then replace it. The parts are cheap (except for the timing cover and oil pump head). I had to replace a broken bolt from a water pump replacement (caused by the local Land-Rover specialist), so had the timing cover off. Pump gears had light brinelling at the root...

Rear fog light switch

Would anyone have a surplus rear fog light switch? Alternately, the correct part number, as I was a little confused with the Optional Parts Catalogue.

I assume this is similar to the pull-out hazard light switch and will plug directly into the surplus wires behind the dash centre panel?

The choice between real or reproduction parts has been the main attraction for me. Though there have been a couple of instances where I've wondered whether what they've sent was what I had ordered. 90% plus, of what I've ordered has been for genuine parts. Whereas if you order from Craddock, you hav...

Service from LR Series

Anyone else had and recent problems with LR Series, or just me? My last three orders were deficient items. This was rectified quickly and these things do happen. However with my latest order, Royal Mail has been replaced by Fed Ex at well over the odds price. Although probably good for international...

I'd be making sure it has the same drive gears for the equivalent 5 speed 110 with 7.50 x 16" tyres. But I am assuming that 110 uses the same calibration for the speedo and didn't change speedometre internals. As the prophet Benny Hill said; when you assume... Of course the calibration question...

You may well have simple speedometer error. This normally increases with speed but if excessive requires the speedo to be removed and repaired. Unless the gearbox has been replaced, I wouldn't be expecting either the drive on the output shaft nor the drive pinion to be at fault. I'd be more worried ...

In what way is the speedo not accurate?

The cable or drive gears would have been the last things I would be looking at.

If they bother to stock the part, then you should be in luck. Though you need to find out which installation procedure matches what they sell you.

Otherwise, your generic seal place will have something as they are a common size. It is only the later design variations that cause problems.

You're somewhat losing me on the logic. If you have a local Rover parts outlet, then the part number should be good enough. Otherwise take your sample seal to the local generic seal supplier and have them match it; either by size and design, or by the seal part number. Your local generic seal suppli...

Some one else got there first.

Having just rebuilt three (the first two were for practise), that one was a bargain.

I'm having trouble finding N.O.S. genuine end caps. Two more caps and I can rebuild the final one: all N.O.S genuine parts.
