There is a Land Rover shop in Australia that are modifying Series 3 Railkos and pins for use in Stage1s they are cheap and readily available.
I have some on my way to me in the post at the moment.

Couldnt imagine 110 axles fitting as the coil sprung rovers had different axle widths. The standard 10 spline axles will fatigue and fail (usually the short side) In Australia we can buy Maxi Drive shafts for Stage 1 s the last time I bought a pair they were about $700 AUD these axles are far more f...

A Stage 1 with its standard gearing doesn't lack power.
Do Cam and Lifters and you will find things will improve quite a bit after all its at least 20 years old
I personally run a higher compression engine with LPG and find it very successful.
Ps you could always put a 4.4 block in it??

I live in a hot climate and an electric fan is not a path down which I would go. Apart from running it as a suppliment to a Viscous Fan. I have run in temperatures up to 53 degrees C without issue I guess it depends upon the conditions you run. Just dont condemn the Land Rover when you cook it as yo...

Yes it will with no physical restraints the restraints come with the electical system. If you want to run the 3.9 EFI system you will need to plumb it in Alternately you could put your 3.5 carbs and manifold on the 3.9 with few issues. People so often get hung up about the smaller 3.5 but there is l...

You can take a 2 door Range Rover rear and shorten it
This will work succesfully and gets rid of the Double Cardan Joint
The factory didnt do it but a 110 with Coils had a normal shaft with much more suspension travel.
I currently run one and when they are tight and balanced they are ok

thanks Disco2 HSE. So what will cause the bores to glaze then? Is it modern fuels that leave a residue which then hardens off and renders the piston rings unable to do the job they are meant to? Anyway, I checked my compressions which are all about 120 to 140 pounds. Bear in mind this is the very e...

Stirling I understand what you are saying about flexing but I worked in Alice Springs for 25 years and used Big 4x4 buses (Unimogs etc,) We used Sikaflex for all our bodywork and it was fantastic yes it will move but Ive never seen it let go. Remember I have already promoted new cracks by making thi...

Thanks guys Its very hard to get anything on the underside of the guard due to the headlamp mountings. I have Stikaflexed some aluminum angle to the bottom of the additional cracks that I created by strengthening things up. I drive on rough roads a lot so that's why mine is so bad. Stirling is right...

Stage 1 Cracking front Mudguards

Does anyone have any views as to why the Stage 1 front Mudguards crack??
They crack near the headlight on the inner edge I remember running tours in
them 25 years ago and they were almost like it from new if used on dirt roads.
I am caught between 2 minds are they mounted too well or not well enough??

I live where the temperatures are around 50 degrees C and have never had an issue with an LT95 and heat. Make sure you have the right grade oil in it if it sounds ok you have nothing to worry about. I have personally towed close to 2 ton with a Range Rover Classic in 54 degree heat without issue. I ...

The Simplest and cheapest way with a Stage 1 is to put a Detroit Locker in the Salisbury it has 24 spline axles already but I personally chose to upgrade to Maxi Axles. They are very effective often criticised by those who havent used them, they are not perfect but will offer the best bang for your ...
