When priming a pump I use a drill with an extension bar and a 7/16" socket. I pull out the distributor and the socket fits onto the top of the pump.

One thing to watch out for is that the piston can stick in the cylinder. A higher pressure spring might cause that problem to get worse. I have heard of a using a "tadpole" valve in race V8's that stops this problem happening. The green bible states that, when warm and at 2400 rpm, the pre...

I have a Range Rover Overdrive fitted with the RR leaver. I have just removed the centre seat and the leaver sticks up through a lot I have cut in the edge of the panel that covers the hole in the seat box.

I have to agree with you, I wouldn't be without my overdrive. I have had one on all of my Land Rovers. The one I have I fitted last year and it has been great. I didn't notice the shaft move when I fitted it but I will ewatch otu for it when i swap it over.

Thanks for the tip

Have refitted the box but still have to sort all the cables, clutch etc etc I haven't transfered the overdrive yet as I want to give the box a run out first to see if its as go...

Driffield 2007

Anybody going?

I have been asked to marshal the off road course again which means I must get the gearbox finished this weekend. It will be the first decent off road outing in the stage 1 so should be fun.

One issue I have heard of with 4 barrel carbs is that the return feed to the tank isnt always restricted. I am sure I have come across someone who restricted the flow back to the tank a bit to make it start and run better.

I may be imagining it though

Gearbox swap

I finally got around to starting on my gearbox swap today. There are 4 main variants of the LT95 all of which have differences that prevent them from being a straight swap. the versions are Stage 1, Range Rover, 101 & 110 V8. I picked up an LT95 that came out of a 110 V8 a few weeks ago. http://...

i think that you could get more reliability out of a new one rather than a re-conditioned Dont discount reconditioning. If its done properley then you should get the same mileage again out of it. More if its trearted well. LT95 gearboxes are pretty bomb proof, whats actually wrong with yours? The o...
