Re: vin plate
Would also be interested to see weights listed on VIN plate of Station Wagon model. Do they differ to the basic model plate?

Stage 1 Register of vehicles...
...seemed to die a death. As I am a closet Stage 1 anorak, I list any I spot in the public domain and have just copied over the spreadsheet here: http://www.pegasusparts.co.uk/bulkheadblog/ These are just the ones with confirmed VIN numbers, I have another list of about 80 that have registration num...

Sandringham Six up for auction
Not sure if this has done the rounds already:

VIN dates it as a 1980 build.

Re: MRC 4462 - Battery Clamp, Early Type
Perhaps I am a closet rivet counter. The vehicle is an early 1980 (April or May) UK build, so I would like to return it to as original as possible. And my professional curiosity is interested in the difference between the two clamps. The later clamp also has a cross-piece associated with it, NRC 554...

MRC 4462 - Battery Clamp, Early Type
Whilst examining the underside of my V8, noticed that the battery box was mostly missing and a PO had inserted/bolted in a crudely folded stainless steel tray to hold the battery off the road. Ripped it all out/carefully unbolted everything and am now having to start again. This will include bolting...

The metalwork on the underside is different, otherwise they are interchangeable.

FRC 1931 - Swivel Bearing Housing
Yes, yes, I know. Unobtainable at a reasonable price. A couple of vendors are listing it, but do they actually exist? However, I have a cunning plan to re-manufacture in manganese bronze or silicon bronze, will also look at making 539741 as well. But first I need a second-hand FRC1931 to reverse-eng...

This site shows where they placed. Most abandoned race, some finished in the 40's:

Re: Speedo cable broken!
Detoxed and non-detoxed engines used different air cleaners. The non-detoxed uses the big dustbin type, the detoxed the RRC type. I would guess speedo cable differences are due to length of the cable to get past these different air cleaners. I got fed up with the one piece type failing, especially b...

Diecast or model Stage 1
Has anybody got one or ever seen one? Loads of bog standard 109 Series 3's. Loads of 110/Defender, but the poor old Stage 1 seems to have been overlooked on the model front. Or is there a hidden gem out there? Strange, back in the day I seem to remember the 109 V8 was the best new thing to have come...

Re: How Many Stage 1's Left on UK roads?
I only SORN'ed it for a few months while some MOT work was done. New servo and master cylinder, hole in the chassis and rear axle shock absorber bracket disintegrated. Then on the return back home the ignition switch played up and finally died in the driveway, so the last 2 weeks have been spent rep...
