You can put a bearing in the top if you use a Santana top swivel pin. The bottom SIII bearing and Railko bush share the same dimensions. The Santana parts are identical apart from being better made and everything bar the half shafts is compatible. See the disc brake post for a parts list. You could ...

5988, why not one shot? It has far better high pressure lubricating properties than EP 90 and is now the Land Rover approved lubricant for the swivel housings. It also has the added advantage of not running out if there's pitting of the swivel housing. The Railko bushings last much longer with it to...

Unless you're really trying to keep the period look I'd steer clear of the goodyears and avon rangemasters etc, they're all pretty crap really. Many years ago I had a pull off with my 109 vs an 88 diesel and I had new goodyear hi milers ( the old army ones) and the 88 with fresh trac edges pulled me...

300 TDIs are still beeing built, they are ROW trucks Alas, not so. I was working for the HALO trust when we bought the last 65 of them off the production line. We also bought loads of engines too. We have no idea what to replace the older vehicles with now. My preferred option is the santana/Iveco ...

often the problem with bleeding brakes is the wee hole in the nipple's partially blcked. Before you bleed them, take the nipple right out and stick some wire into the hole and then some compressed air to blow all the crap out. When you bleed them open the nipple right up, not just a 1/4 turn or what...

Yup, just to add to the above. All LT95 Range rover and stage 1 bellhousings are the same. 101's are shorter by around 108mm. I've just put one in my stage 1 with a 6.2 GMC diesel. The other manual gearboxes used by the Range rover, LT77 and R380, have many and varied bellhousings which are intercha...

and put in LT230 Shafts
How similar are the transfer cases and what else is interchangeable? Is there any advantage to using LT230 parts apart from availability?

Front wings, windscreen, wiper motor

Free to uplift. Outer skins are knackered but the rest is OK. Headlamp bowls rusted out. No use to me as going abroad and clearing stuff out.

I saw 53 Degrees C last year So did I, ......In my Oven!!! Totally off post but curious: In Australia I saw a few trucks and utes with the bonnet painted black. I was told at the time it was to keep the sun off their eyes. Really? How hot can that make under bonnet temperatures? What componen...

LT77 5 speed, LT230 & V8 adapter plate

Anyone fancy 5 speeds? I've had this in my shed for a while. It worked fine when I took it out the vehicle. It's currently got a Fairey winch PTO on it which I'll keep for a rainy day so complete gearbox and transfer box with no rear cover. £100 for a quick sale.

Axles back up for grabs because the fella who was going to take them and put them on his 88" with LT77 found out his rear propshaft was going to be 10" long so aborted the project. I reckon £100 each sound about right? The rear spring perches would be easy to grind off but no need if going...

I've got a 3.9 with carbs on it I'm thinking of getting rid of. I've temporarily put the 6.2 GMC intended for my Volvo into the stage 1 and off to Afghanistan for probably a year as of next month. I'll likely put a small block in when I get back. I'm in the south of Scotland though! It's a good engi...
