At the risk of retaliative posts, may I agree with Kiwistage1V8! Reading through some of map1275 posts he appears to be "Angry Young Man" and I thought Aussies were "laid back". Our common interest is the Land Rover (sorry I'm just renovating a S3 petrol at the moment, not a Stag...

My apologies for stating the Stage 1's start with SAL (all the ones I've owned have) my point was the serial number is incorrect being only eight numbers. A point that you concur with, together with the metal plate welded on in the wrong place. I feel this is not a general discussion but an abrupt a...

Looking at the Land Rover FAQ site, the chassis number starting with 914 is for a petrol basic 1972 -1979 LHD export model. Stage 1's start with SAL. Is there more investigating you need to do into the history? Has someone put an older chassis number on it to try and make it tax exempt?

Well, I've looked up the part number (599443) and they are in stock at various places. Dunsfold have them at £134 which is not exactly "cheap as chips"!

Can you ship a cheap one over?

Brake shuttle valve

I now have a collection of three of these valves but they all seem very rusty and I'm not sure about re-using any of them.
Does anyone know of a refurbishment service from a manufacturer or even where I can get some NOS please?

This one is on e-Bay - 290671164976

Sundym Glass

I have the Sundym glass from a station wagon passenger door if anyone has broken theirs. It's on eBay at the moment but no interest has been shown yet! If it doesn't sell I'll be open to cheap offers!

Stage one needing rescue!

This is the Stage 0ne that I was hoping to rescue, but sadly I have to pay a large vet bill for the operation my dog had (20% of her lung removed due to pneumonia)! The vehicle is locate at Lympne near Hythe on the Kent coast. What struck me about it is that there are no dents on any of the panels I...
