Re: Thrust washer thickness..

Look in your service bulletins under Range-Rover, late 1970s early 1980s. There were non standard sizes available and had to be of a special material.

Re: Roll cage

The cage is one thing, what it's mounted to is the next issue. Just from the concept of 'falling' over, which is a very low speed reality, the Australian design for the army 110 is reasonable and unobtrusive. Plus providing high and low seat belt anchorages. I think I have the EMEI (EMER) for the up...

Lucas Classic

Has anyone tried the Lucas Classic range yet?
As good as what they were, just the current product in a new box or as bad as the mystery brand copies?

Re: Gumtree again

There's a reason people call it scumtree. But like car sales.com, sellers just pick prices from the aether without any reference to reality. Had to deal with a Sprite yesterday that happens to be on for $12000. It needs about $5000 for registration, starting with the "missing" horn (owner ...

Re: CV joint

Land-Rover CVs aren't, they rely on splash for lubrication. However your question was about bench testing.
I always grease before fitting. One for protection and two because CV grease is only a thicker version of One Shot. If it mixes with gear oil it won't do any harm.

Re: CV joint

Pull it apart as per any CV.
Once greased, movement should be firm but relatively even in any direction.

Re: ReG plate

A registration plate? The national standard is six characters. But it could be a special (private purchase). Which State or Territory?
