Low cost parts.
Hello, I just finished shopping at summitracing.com again. So far I have saved almost $1000 over the cost of parts in the UK and that doesnt include shipping. I have been looking around the British websites that offer parts and such for the Rover V8. Most of the ancillaries are from American manufac...

Block Hugger Headers
I have found block hugger headers for the Buick 216. Do you think think these would be a solution to getting around the tight spaces in the engine compartment? Has anyone tried this? I've heard of folks cutting lots of important parts in order to install tubular headers. http://www.popbrowns.co.uk/p...

No idea on the HP increase, but I'd imagine it's going to be substantial considering the upgrade to the Holley as well. Do they make block hugger tubular headers for the Rover V8? Ive heard some horror stories on trying to get headers working. I was considering upgrading with the Torrel Disk Brake c...

New power train
Hello all, I am preparing to replace the engine and rebuild my gearbox. I bought a new 4.0 long block locally and pick it up this weekend. I bought an edelbrock preformer manifold and a Holly 500 carb. I can see how this could get out of control quickly. This is my first time, I guess I just need a ...

Fuel sending unit
Hey guys. I have a flared fitting on my fuel sending unit. It bolts onto braided fuel line. The new one I got has a smooth elbow. Is this a modification, or did I get the wrong sender? The part numbers seem to be the same for most LWB SWs. I got it working for now by shearing off the elbow from the ...

Gas tank woes
It looks like my gas tank has a hole. I don't think that it is leaking outright. More of an evaporation thing. Where can a guy get a gas tank for a Stage 1? I have visited the breaker sites and have come up with nothing. I am basing my research on the fact that the Stage 1 has a unique gas tank. Any...

Heated Windsceens
Howdy I am preparing to buy heated windsceens for the ol' stage one in preparation for the US winters. Anybody have experience with this? The seller says "its just a switch and a relay". Well, what relay would you suggest? Where do you put it? Is there one already available that I could pi...

70MPH at 3000RPM
Interesting. I am pretty much getting that now. I am about to fit those SU carbs this week. I would imagine the power to RPM ratio will boost my speed a bit. It seems to me that the cost for new diffs doesn't really make the speed gain that worthwhile. Could someone go into more detail on the Disco ...

A question of speed.
Hello all, I just got home from the Land Rover Fest. I was given much "advice" on how to properly increase the highway speed on my Stage 1. One camp is for installing Range Rover diffs. Another is telling me to change out the Transfer gears for Ranger Rover ones. The first group paled a bi...
