Fitting coil springs and shocks

Hi The 110 LPG is running sweet, so some structural cosmetic attention is needed, and one item on the list is the above. Has anyone got any tips or tricks please when replacing these hefty items. Do one side at a time, Take the wheels off, disconnect anti-roll bars, and what is ideally the best orde...

I've got a gearbox in the garage, that was took out during the summer, it's from a X reg 110 Defender V8. It is usable, certainly there are parts or restoration possibilities. Comes with transfer box I think. wouldn't £50 for it possible, but....

Well the Land Rovers been running well, even went up to Fort William from Northumberland with no major problems. We do though have one problem, cold starting! If we switch to petrol for the first start, she may or may not start, and then if I switch to LPG, it's the same problem again, when I first ...

Serious back firing gone, on the road

Hi to all who assisted. can you believe it, but a distribution cap ordered from my local car shop proved to be faulty, it was only two months old, on closer inspection it could be seen that the rotor arm had made deep grooves in the electrode things, and worn away the plastic that is on top of each ...

HT lead layout

Hi Thanks for the diagram, I put the HT Leads as shown in the diagram, she now turns over, but does not start. As I had changed the rotor arm and distribution cap, I decided to put back the old set, but I'm unsure if the timing has been altered. Is it possible to alter the timing by 'just' changing ...

Firing Order

Hi yet another task to sort out. Has anyone got a diagram showing the HT layout from the cylinder head to the distribution cap for a 110 V8 County? I bought a new rotor arm and cap, only to find that she won't start, so I'll put back the rotor arm first, try this, then finally put back the original ...

Thanks

Thanks for all the useful comments, I happened to go to B&Q, and their rubber matting is ideal. I bought a few rolls, and made my own rubber carpet, and as its 5mm thick, it adds extra sound proofing.

Cheers

Serious Backfiring

Hi I've got a 1987 V8 110, and I've not long had a new exhaust fitted, while on our holidays in Wales, yes, the V8 decided to make life difficult. Starting was no problem, but every three to four minutes she would backfire, scatter all the sheep, and then carry on as normal. This happened all the wa...

Carpets

As well as replacing the gearbox and clutch, the brown carpet of my 110 V8 has seen its day. With kids, dogs and kayaks often taking a place inside her, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with refitting carpet, rubber matting, or found a cost effective method of taking care of this issue, ...

Getting at the gearbox

Hi Rather new to Land Rovers, bought myself a 110 V8 in April, that runs on LPG. My first major task is to remove the interior to allow a gearbox entry, it looks like I need to completly remove the floors, seats, seat box, handbrake to gain access. The plan is that I take it to the local garage who ...
