EBAY company. He was irrate when I left him a bad feedback and made all kinds of excuses. Apperently the problem is in the plastic needle bearings that landrover put into the t-case(set of 3). this makes a serious rumble on decel and in more serious cases can excellerate gear and shaft wear, which i...

That is what was said and on top of that, the sound can be duplicated on the stands, albiet slower. It is the exact sound I here. Ive no idea why as this is my first major overhaul of any of my rovers and I am with all honesty treading new ground, but it may appear that the T-CASE sold me as spectac...

UPDATE! The source of the rumbling is the slop between the transfer case output shafts, internally. Took it to the local power train folks to confirm. Told them everything done to date and they even checked out the driveshaft alignment and complimented me on the fine job I did for being a complete i...

Thanks Prim, you all have given me a great deal of practical knowledge and can only benefit from it. My friend is still hospitalized so Ive not continued but am eager to return to ironing out the problem. With all the hands on knowledge from so many, I am sure to have a wonderful ST-1 that I will en...

I am so happy that others have had this problem and this forum exists with such great people. I am taking stirlsilvers suggestions to heart and greatly appreciate the input. I am not certain if the suspension has been altered. This unit came from jolly old, and with all the other malfunctions and no...

I did what I said I would not and drove it carefully. With all floor pans off, it was easier to note that it was coming from the final drive, as you suspect and though I can not physically move the ujoints, two are new but I cant discount the other two. Without using the clutch, any change in the veh...

That was a good idea but I do not have the double knuckle u-joint and have driven with one or the other shafts removed for the purpose of isolation. Same result. Still not sure but maybe I will get it up off the floor and try to duplicate the problem with a controlled run. that way I can get around ...

It does sound as if it warrants going thru. I have rebuilt brakes on an old 1960 mercedes round body that consisted of merely cleaning the goonk out of the inside cups and seals. This freed up motion with no parts replaced. you could get that lucky. Dont forget to check the brake line to that calipe...

Two questions for you, was the problem with the cog a problem with a rover design change or an incorrect part#, or mallory. My other question is , What is the ou...

NEW STAGE-1 OWNER
:o Hello gents, I am new to the stage-1 but no newcomer to the land rover world. With a 90RRC, 97DISCO, 2000DISCO, I am quickly running out of room and my wife may indeed have to move back to her mothers. I was taking in the website and was very impressed with the camaraderie and unity of purpose yo...
