Door lock jammed
Hello all, I slammed the driver's side door a little too hard yesterday when I got in the LR, and when I went to open it again the lock wouldn't budge. The lever to lock it from the inside is still in the lower unlocked position, but the handle feels like it's locked. The key doesn't help either. Wh...

Cheers everyone. LR Orphanage had one on ebay for ages and I never got round to buying it. My interior isn't in good shape, but I don't want to attack it any more, and I'm in no rush, I'm used to doing things the difficult way now. I just thought I'd get one whilst I was ordering anyway to save on p...

Cheers lads. I have got a Stage One with a steering lock. So in theory it's a unique part, but Bumpkin's experience shows can just put a standard S3 one in there? So Bumpkin, didn't you need to do any fiddly mods to get it to work? That'd be great. I'm putting a Paddock order in this weekend so I mi...

Choke cable standard series III?
Morning all, just a quick question. My choke cable needs replacing. I can pull the choke out but pushing it back in doesn't turn the choke off. I've tried greasing it, but to no avail. I'm sick of jumping out at the lights to quickly flip the bonnet and turn the choke off, it'd be a real luxury to d...

Thanks Mik, but it was already ordered. Someone actually warned me off Prestolite, said they'd had several bad experiences with them, so I went with the Denso. It's a bit smaller as well and was easy to fit. Anyway, I promised everyone an update. I eventually got it fitted yesterday, after delays wi...

> Thanks for answers, so can I just order bearings for early 110? I don't know about that. Ask your supplier. These are the ones I ordered: http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/SERIES/Axle/Wheel_Bearing-from_80/81_-_Tinken_(OE).html Actually if you look on the Paddock site and search for that part number...

Yep, those are the numbers I have as well, from the parts catalogue. See images below. HOWEVER the part number of the bearings has apparently been superceded, so you may have to ask for STC4382G (same as a 110 apparently). This is what I was told (and the 110 manual seemed to bear this out), so I ha...

Well that didn't go as well as expected. It didn't want to open very far, so instead of forcing it too much I'm thinking of taking it in to get it reconditioned. However, getting it seen to costs around 100 - 150 euros, and I wondered if I could get a new one for that price. I know a lot of the Stag...

Thanks again for the tips, lads, much appreciated. Sorry for the delay in replying, due to pressures of work and other misery I've not had much chance to get at it yet - the freezing cold and wind don't make it any more appealing to get out there in the dark either. I've just put a screwdriver acros...

Thanks for the reply Stirling. It does look like one big coincidence, can't imagine anything I did in the distributor's caused this. It had been difficult to start for a while, but hadn't let me down on that score. I only found one big relay behind that centre console, with 4 terminals. One neutral,...

Cheers Davo, thanks for the advice. It sounds logical to me. I've ruled out the starter relay (delivers power when the key is turned) and started checking the earths. The starter motor terminals are caked in old oil, so I'm giving them a scrub as well, so with a bit of luck I'll have a clearer pictu...

Starter motor dead and test light on
Hello All, After lurking here and picking up tips for a while the time has come for me to ask for a bit of help. I've had a Stage One for about 6 months now, and after behaving itself pretty well it just gave up on me last week. It had been starting unconvincingly for a while, and last week I starte...

Hi Rob, Last week I was talking to a Stage One owner who runs an old timer LR business, and whilst he swears by 15W40, he's aware that there's another school of thought that strongly advocates 20W50, and both have very strong arguments to support them. No definitive answer from me then, sorry about ...
