If you get really stuck and have a few quid burning a hole in your pocket. Ashcrofts can build custom drive shafts and cv joints. Not cheap best find NOS from somewhere. good luck

Just a couple of pics from Eastnor Castle this year. It was very very muddy and very wet. The V8 ploughed through some seriously deep water. could you not get the pins you bought machined down. Any decent workshop with a lathe and a 4 jaw chuck should be able to do this.
