Don't know if this is any help to you, but fairey used some of the gear's and bearing's from the triumph 2000 gearbox in the overdrive that fit's an LT95, if you could correspond the the part's, you could probally order them new from someone like rimmer brother's or another triumph specalist nearer ...

You could try the heritage centre, I think they might do it for you for a small charge.

Hi Basil, that's what I thought, but apparantly not. I don't know if it exits in exactly the right place, but I don't think it would be too far out. I think you can interchange the remotes, but if you have to do that then I guess it would make more sense to source a Defender 'box from the off. Mayb...

Bad luck mate, nice scenery though, as for your cv joint they are easy to change, might be harder getting the joint than doing the job itself as they are specific to the the stage 1.

Try taking the petrol cap off the tank and try starting it, that will check if it's air locked, then pull off the return pipe and turn the ignition on and see if the petrol is actually flowing, it sound's to me like fuel starvation mate.

Hope this help's Baz :D

From what I've heard, when Solihull had the V8s in production, there weren't quite enough carbs to go round, so they interchanged. My '79 Rangie came with Strombergs from the factory, and I thought all the Stage 1s did, but I must be wrong there. No i think your right, your stage 1 should have left...

You must be reading my mind... I am planning to do the same myself, and I sought advice from a friend of mine who is more knowledgeable than I - he said an LT77 from a V8 Disco would go straight in. It would be great if we could keep a dialogue on this open, as I'm sure we'll both run into differen...

Tbh mate i don't know if they fit on the same manifold, as mine came complete, I would have thought so as i can't see rover changing it, the best bit about getting it complete though mate is you will get all the linkages that you need and they are different between the two types of carb.
