Re: Engine Numbers
You could try the heritage centre, I think they might do it for you for a small charge.bigjohn734 wrote:Is there a place that can give written confirmation of these detaill which is required for a SVA

I think you can interchange the remotes, but if you have to do that then I guess it would make more sense to source a Defender 'box from the off. Mayb...

From what I've heard, when Solihull had the V8s in production, there weren't quite enough carbs to go round, so they interchanged. My '79 Rangie came with Strombergs from the factory, and I thought all the Stage 1s did, but I must be wrong there. No i think your right, your stage 1 should have left...

You must be reading my mind... I am planning to do the same myself, and I sought advice from a friend of mine who is more knowledgeable than I - he said an LT77 from a V8 Disco would go straight in. It would be great if we could keep a dialogue on this open, as I'm sure we'll both run into differen...

Tbh mate i don't know if they fit on the same manifold, as mine came complete, I would have thought so as i can't see rover changing it, the best bit about getting it complete though mate is you will get all the linkages that you need and they are different between the two types of carb.
