Re: Howdy, Names Stirling

Hello all, bit of a sad note. 10 years later, the old Stage 1 is up for sale by the guy that bought it from me. It's strange to see my name mentioned in a car advert!! https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393646493922?hash=item5ba728d0e2:g:NE4AAOSw9exhdIwC It's in a sad state... https://stirlsilver.com.au/im...

Thanks Alan,
The plan is to do the same like I did to the trasfer case selector. Grind down the peaks of the hexagon on the nut enough so it is still a bit of a tight fit and then just press it in to the knob. That way, if needed it can be pulled out later.

Gear Stick Thread

I'm pretty sure this was discussed on a thread somewhere on this site but I can't find it.

Does anyone know what the thread is on the end of the stage 1 gear stick? I need it to get hold of a nylock nut which I can bond into the gear knob and screw it on so it doesn't wobble on me!

Thanks guys.

Hi Alan, I my post I was refereing to using an adhesive between the metal frame and the firewall and the frame and roof. When you do that it makes it very difficult to swing out the window should you want to! On the intermediate gears in the transfer case. My low range intermediate gear did look lik...

1.7m of 100x50mm channel was bought to make the bumper for the car. I had initially thought about making the ends rounded like the original bumper, but after scribing it out the rounded ends on a 50mm deep bumper looked strange. So, I opted to go for a 45degree chamfer on either end of the bar. The ...

Hi, remember it is an old stage1 and not a Formula1 car  A clean engine is a royality. Did you had to remove the carb. to replace the second hand set of orange cables ? Did you said their was differant in performance ? Hi Landdani, yes I know it isn't a sports car, but I wanted to see what I c...

Left hand bank is done: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a16/stirlsilver/Stage%201%20Engine%20Rebuild/05102010290.jpg And I am aware the holders aren't all straight... I haven't tightened them yet! I actually now need to take off the holders and round off the edges so they don't look so 'chopped up ...

Just because I would like to make the engine bay nice and neat... I plan to make some custom 8mm solid stainless steel core ignition leads. I have done some work towards getting this done by pulling an old set of leads apart and now have all the pieces to do the work. http://i8.photobucket.com/album...
