The best air filter is the factory one. If you must change it there are K+N filters which fit on the carbs but personally they wouldnt go on my engine, try a speed shop and check their catalogue.

I would guess its an electric water heater, pretty much a standard fitment to fire engines and ambulances so they are never cold started.

the cylinders you say are not working are fed off one carb, the others off the other carb so looks like a carb problem. Are the carbs balanced, that is what the problem sounds like, one is not allowing enough fuel through at idle.

The 4.6 block and heads are virtually the same, so it will bolt in and the exhust manifolds will bolt up. The sump will probably not fit so will have to be changed, which means the front cover also will need changing. If you want to run carbs and dizzy you will need to change the front cover anyway,...

Not 100% sure on the NZ army system, mine wasnt complete, but the parts book for the 90/110 shows a system that uses two pumps and one solenoid for switching the returns. It was used on later vehicles with in tank pumps. Its something I will look into more when I build my hybrid, havent worried abou...

I don't suppose you could take some pictures and e-mail them to me? You may have a local variation. paget@powerup.com.au The way I understood the factory system was a; mechanical tap with electric switches, one pump and some type of solenoid operated tap to switch over fuel return. Hi Mark, that is...

There is a member on ORRP from Malaysia, he has posted pics of landy wreckers over there that are full of tidy 110s that are ex govt, police and army, but can not be registered due to lack of log books. Maybe yours was similar and so they used an older identity. As Terry said it is a tidy truck, but...

Hi Ted, it couldnt be earlier than 83 as that is when they started making the 110 and the parts wouldnt have been available before then. I would suspect the identity has been swapped at some stage, according to my 85 110 handbook the vin should be 17 digits long. Have you posted on any other forums,...

Also it is a standard pickup not a HCPU, the HCPU body is seperate to the cab and wider than the cab.

Hope all that is of some help.

Hi Ted. What a can of worms you have opened. That is a coil sprung 110, not a 109, looking at the pic under the bonnet it has a later reservoir and radiator mounts so is more likely a later 80s or 90s on model, 200 TDi most likely is correct, the 300 sat further forward. It has most likely been a ra...
