1982 Stage-1 V8 109" for sale on eBay

It's mine!! :)

Good, solid car, lots of work done to it. Some bad bits (obviously) but nothing mayor. No reserve price and starting bid of £1.

Grab a bargain!!

That's a bargain!! I reckon I should get one before they run out. It'll be better than getting mine rebuild. At least its genuine.

I thought LT85 didn't sound right! You're right, I have 4 gears, it's original, no overdrive, good for fast motorway cruising (90mph) sounds like an LT95.

Any idea how much it costs to rebuild those buggers, including the transfer box?

Actually, I was thinking of really really really (!) dark matt green and paint the rims in copper. As in the photo. At the moment it's just primed and the front fender needs some work doing to it, but I am dreaming. Nobody can take that away from me! :D Have a look here: http://www.michel-thomasius....

BTW guys, Vehicle Wiring products do an electric Oil press gauge. I've no idea what brand it is or whether it is any good, but it 'looks' solid enough. Certainly better than what I've got. http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/gauges/gauges.html They also do adapters, cables, switches,...

Good to know!! I filled up my gearbox with W90 (Stage-1 V8, 1982, LT85 I think?) and it's been good so far, but I don't use it that often... I got the oil from the Difflock store, because they recommended it for Series-3. http://www.difflock.com/cgi-bin/wm10/wm10_02606/st/ws20_9800/main/searchitems....

know what you mean Mafred. I am afraid of the bill for the whole joke.... I suppose I'll either bite the bullet, get down and dirty for a few days and do the diffs myself (and the whole gefaffel that goes with it) or I'll pay through the nose to get my local landy shop to do it. I reckon the bill is...

Hi Guys, I've got a 120Ltr tank in the back on my landy and I can do about 250-270 miles on that. I mostly do motorways, at 80-85mph. Sometimes a short sprint off the speedo.... So, I can get 110lrs in to the tank, which I believe is the equivalent of 24UK gallons (1 gallon = 4.545Ltrs?). 260/...

I had a right fit while trying to fit an aftermarket Oil pressure gauge to mine.... I once almost ran out of oil on a long journey (hence my post on thermostats) and didn't realize. So I bought this oil pressure clock from eBay for a few quid and then had a tough time finding an adapter to get the s...

Driveline slack and the clunk of death...

Hi Chaps/Chappettes, I've another problem with my Stage-1. Since I bought it last year I noticed a 'clunk' noise and movement in the driveline whenever I change gear and then release the clutch. I've been under the landy to check for driveline slack in the propshafts/diffs and they do seem to have s...

Hey Guys, thanks for getting back. I reckon you all have a point here about that the thermostat may have been removed because there's another problem in the cooling system... grr..... I hope not tho. I'll get one and fit it, let's see what happens. I can always take it out anyways. So far I've never...

Re: Exhaust manifolds

Hi Manfred,

where did you get those tubular exhaust manifold/downpipes from? I wouldn't mind getting a pair... Also, do they break the bank?

TA! :D

Your views on thermostats please chaps...

Hi Guys, I was puzzling over whether my Stage-1 V8 needs a thermostat? I've got three manuals, including the Range Rover green repair manual and none show a thermostat. Problem is that the bugger is running wayyyyy too cool. The temp clock does never move into the N bit. (C = cool, N = normal, H = h...
