The other thing about pooring some oil is you can wipe off tiny bits
of aluminium afterwords to prevent them falling down into manifold
wich is something you don't want to happen :)

Original engine number for the Stage One is between 10G00001 and 12G00001, so yours is probably non-original. Looking in the Range Rover Repair Operation Manual 1970-1985, it lists the "C" suffix as "Emission Controlled", and compression ratio of 8.25:1 and there is some info on ...

Like Onno said, it is unique, however it is easily replaced by any other type of heater valve that is mounted on a bracket and cable-operated. I got a new heater valve for a volvo 240 for about 10 euro's two years ago.
Haven't fitted it yet, though ...

Take carbs off, and poor some EP90 over restrictors. Then pull / pry them out . I made a puller that allowed me to pull & turn with some extra force
applied by a long metal bar chained to the upper end of the puller.

It wasn't all that hard, just took a bit of patience & grease (oil)
