Re: where to mount the heater control valve

Found my old valve in my spares box with the bracket still attached, bit of a result, will have a go at it this weekend, got to try to fit in the take off pipes for the lpg mixer between engine and heater valve as well! Got a 110 cable which should do the job, go the attachment bit still on the old ...

Found some leads on parts, page 1J 10 of the Series 3 Optional Parts Catalogue lists the parts and numbers, but helpfully has no helpful illustration like every other listing in there! Bracket heater valve is ERC3484 Cable assembly, water valve operation RH Stg , 347941 Clip heater control cable CRC...

Re: Bonnet locks

Bought one of the new ones, very pleased with it, a good fit. Missed out the spring washer behind the catch plate as I found it too fiddly to hold in place and get the screw in the back to hold it in with the washer in place. Same on the original I am sure.

Re: where to mount the heater control valve

Anyone know the part number for the mounting bracket for the heater valve? Or even better have a spare one handy?

Got a brand new valve, but on a rebuilt V8 not from a Stage one, so of course now no bracket!

Re: Front Diff; 10 or 24 spline

Think they are 10 spline. Had a half shaft go a few years back and stage 1 half shafts are obviously made of gold as hard to find and pricey. Went for the 24 spline diff out of a 110 and made to order half shafts from an of road specialist and then cut to length.

Re: LH exhaust manifold

Doug, many thanks for the offer but I have managed to get a second hand LH one, fitted and working fine. Interested to know how you modded the other type, could come in handy for anyone with a Stage 1 in the future.

LH exhaust manifold

Mine has got a crack on a stud hole so the downpipe is now held by only 2 studs.

Does anyone have a decent spare for sale?

Intermittent wiper modifications?

As we all know the standard series 3 wipers have just slow and fast speeds, is there any way to easily get an intermittent setting which would be very useful for when it's raining a little?

Front prop

Had a couple of the Craddock front props, they soon wore out, got my money back but not good. Have had a standard 110 one fitted, just needs a replacement gearbox output flange (not sure if this is astandard 110 one or needs to be off of an LT95 that was fitted to early 110s) works fine, and adamn s...

Sounds a good idea, I guess that a variable valve in either line to the heater matrix would regulate the flow into it and therefore the heat given out. Do any of these work on cable and therefore connect up to the existing lever?

Done that already, the wagon came plumbed in that way with T piece extensions fitted for the LPG, I then got a second hand heater valve which is the one that has corroded away. As you say doesn't get hot unless I put the fan on.

Heater Valve

My heater valve has finally leaked, crumbled and died.

Anyone got one from a Stage 1 that you are breaking?

Just scanned through this one, have you tried double de-clutching up and down the box? this can often help and was standard procedure for the older standard series 3s in the Army.
