I think you will find that its axle wrap with the springs winding up and releasing if you get out and watch underneath while its doing it and you will see what I mean.
Dont let a Stage 1 do it too much as it can do a front axle.
You are probably better off to deflate your tyres a little bit.

To quote your website The steering swivels contain Range Rover c.v. joints because of the full-time four wheel drive.Apart from that the stage-1 is bog standard Land Rover series III. If it had been produced ten years earlier it would have provided some real competition to Toyota's 45-series LandCru...

The LT230 shafts are like the later LT95 shafts but seem to be more readily available. They have grooves machined in them unlike most Stage 1 ones, these shafts help with lubrication of the centre pins and gears this prevents what you are looking at in the pictures above. You can also machine the ce...

I know tyres can blow but I havent had any issues myself Any Petrol carby engine can vaporize in these temps I always find Rovers with an electric fuel pump better than other others. Dash boards and paintwork tend to deteriorate quickly particularly in cheap Korean cars. I know in the early years in...

I suppose there's a bit more horsepower, but it's still just a 2.25 petrol. The Roverdrive was always fine with that motor - until we were driving through the Pilbara and it was in the low-to-mid forties. I know you've been on tours through Australia, but I would guess that was during the Dry seaso...

I may be interested as Davo says for Australia it will need to deal with heat.
45 Degrees C Ambient and 60 Degree road temperatures and 120 Km/h would be my expected use.
Oh and I dont want the gearbox to be weaker either.
I know Im not asking much lol

Dont use the same oil in the gearbox and transfer as you use in the diffs it will damage both units.
The correct oil for the gearbox and transfer is 20-50 Engine oil some say that you can use modern gearbox oil and this is true but I find the original engine oil the best

The key to stop them leaking is to replace the flange, I had one that I had sleeved all looked good but it still leaked within a few hundred kays, replaced it with a brand new one and its been going for the last 3 years without issue. There are also heavy duty seals that help a lot of the aftermarke...

Got the modified parts today the Series 3 Railko is machined slightly shorter and the top face reduced slightly. The pin is then shortened slightly allowing a setup that is remarkably like the original Stage 1 part the only comment would be that the pin is about 1.5 mm smaller than the Stage 1 not r...
