Re: Information required asap - LWB spring mounts
IMG_0632.JPG I'm always one for keeping original. As far as replacing the leaves that is a fair point but they were all severely pitted with rust after I separated them and wire brushed down with the angle grinder. Replacement seemed the best bet and I managed to get some NOS parabolics for £50. Ot...

Re: Information required asap - LWB spring mounts
Well the thing is I have never driven this Land Rover or anything else with 4 leaf springs on the road before. Driven a series 2 in the South African bush but that is it. I'm wanting a go of a standard 109 before getting this on the road so I can feel the difference of the V8 and if mine is riding o...

Re: Information required asap - LWB spring mounts
I have some fresh parabolics going on, shocks and everything else you can imagine. Looked at refurbing the old set, so took one to bits and two leaves were snapped and seriously rusty

Information required asap - LWB spring mounts
Hello,
This is a question only a fellow LWB Land Rover owner could know -
Replacing the rear 1/4 chassis on my LWB and would like to check the distance between the centres of the spring mounting bolts on the chassis?
I of course forgot to measure this before cutting

Gearbox crossmember
Currently doing chassis work on my pick up and I am a little confused about the gearbox crossmember. Mine was a bolt on straight box section that fell to pieces when removed and I'm not sure it was right. Can't seem to find part numbers or reference to it in the parts catalogue - I have PDFs of thes...

Re: stuck clutch any tips?
My stage one was sitting 10 years and the slave cylinder seals had dissolved. Then clutch was stuck. Few things were holding me back - make sure the clutch pedal is set to the correct height after changing the slave and master. Make sure the shaft on the slave is properly connected to the clutch for...

Re: Looking for ASH 770W
Hello, I currently own ASH 770W. Happened to google the reg to see what came up.
He's was in a bit of a state when I got him, but being treated to lots of fresh parts. Hoping to be road worthy by summer.
Regards

Re: Chassis
Hi Jack,
Interesting to hear of a chassis close by and another stage one for that matter. Where are you located exactly?
