Re: Distributors... what are you using?
Hi Alan,
From what I remember as the fuses are all fed from the same feed, the fuse holder was modified with a junior hacksaw so the reducer had it's own fuse and feed.
I am quite happy to take photos if you want.

Re: Distributors... what are you using?
Hello, When the military ignition gave up the ghost just after I bought him I used the following parts and have had no problems in almost 2 years. The voltage reducer is fed from a fuse under the dash but the fuse box had to be modified slightly so the feed was controlled by the ignition and not per...

very impressive rebuild, congratulations on a great looking vehicle. Did Custom Chrome make your exhaust headers too or did you source them elsewhere?

Re: Fuel Flow Solenoid
Hi Alan, Thanks for the reply. The landy has been running fine since the other day on both tanks. I took the dash out and had a look at the 2 relays in there pt no.s Bosch 332 209 203. They were modern plastic ones with no obvious damage but I replaced them anyway. This happened to me last year and ...

Fuel Flow Solenoid
So, got home yesterday afternoon in my 24v ex-NZDF Stage 1 with at least an eighth of a tank of fuel in the rear tank. Set out this morning and the gauge is reading zero, not a problem as it sometimes sticks however after 6 kms I pulled into a petrol station and put in 10 litres. Still no change to ...

great to see you have been making progress and can't wait for the first test run reports. I wasn't planning on changing my gearbox but am now seriously thinking about it as donk is my daily runner here in new Zealand.

Re: Engine Oil Cooler
Hi Alan,
just thought I would ask as to replace the gasket I have to strip out most of the oil cooler assembly and if the vehicle didn't need it then I would remove the rest of it at the same time.
Thanks for the reply

Engine Oil Cooler
Hello all from New Zealand, I have just located the oil leak on my ex-nzdf 109, the gasket (5330-99-796-6077) which is fitted between the engine oil filter housing and military oil filter/oil cooler assy base plate (2990-99-796-6078) has given up the ghost after 30 years. My question is this, do I n...

Re: Cold Starting Problems
Hi Alan, Thanks for the speedy and as usual, very informative reply. Two things jump out at me straight away, you are the second person today to tell me I should be running the engine on 95 RON fuel and not 91. When I bought him in March I did a full service and replaced the leads and spark plugs, b...

Cold Starting Problems
So, since the weather started getting colder in May, the wagon has become increasingly difficult to start, when I first bought him I would pull the choke out halfway, turn the starter motor and after 5 to 10 seconds he would start. Since every night recently has been below zero or close to, it can t...

hi alan,
thanks for that, as it turns out there was no preload on the bearings when I removed the lock washer.
