Re: Post-refurb woes!

Right, its been a while but i'm back! I'm very pleased to say that the truck is now mechanically sound! A few major parts were replaced and the issue turned out to be that the left hand carburettor was unserviceable. They tried everything to get it running properly and said that the main jet was so ...

Post-refurb woes!

Hey all, I'm nearing the finish of my stage 1's "Freshen up" and i'm having some annoying issues! Firstly, the trucks been sitting with very little fuel in it for around 2 months, so I thought I should just make sure it still goes (Bearing in mind that it started and ran pretty well pre re...

Its bloody loud inside though, so I need to get on with some insulating. Im cutting up my marine carpet for the tub tonight as wel...

Re: Gear boots and knobs

Have a look on LRseries.co.uk, and get the part numbers. Then use LRdirect.co.uk to purchase them as I've had bad service from LRseries but their website is good for part no.s

Re: New Stage 1 Owner Needs Help

Excellent, I'll look through the pertronix kits on Summit when I get a chance. I have a pair of landy wheels at my place now so I'll bolt them up and see how they go, then ill go find some new tyres when the bank account permits! I bought a rear door last night so now all I need is to find a roof so...

Re: New Stage 1 Owner Needs Help

Forgot I had this! Truck is going well, being used as a daily driver with a serious drinking problem! Starting is still so-so, but is definitely improved from when I first bought it. I cleaned out the wee valves that go on the hoses from the rocker covers to somewhere.. there was a lot of gunk in th...

Re: New Stage 1 Owner Needs Help

Thanks Alan, your advice has been invaluable so far!

I removed the cheap inline filter and put In a full length of hose to the pump, and the starting has become far better. The pump is way quieter, and the truck starts much quicker.

Im making progress!
