Gear boots and knobs
Hi All, just curious as to where I might be able to source the gear boots for the levers for my stage one. I am after the 4 speed, high/low range and handbrake boots if it is still possible to source them. I also need the high/low range gear knob and also a bush I think for the knob on my 4 speed le...

Hi Drifter, nice looking truck there! Favour to ask - any chance of sticking up a picture of the front wing badges (or pm me) ? I'd like to try to track a set down for my Stage 1. Cheers! Re: Gathering of Stage One's
Great idea! How does Dubai sound. Probably about as central as anywhere for the crew from Down Under. Should be able to get the Kiwi folk there too. Might need to do some preparation work to the Stagey before the trip as it is around 12 000 kms one way I think.. But seriously it is a good idea. I wo...

Re: Mercedes 3.0L turbo engine Conversion
No worries Mick, point taken. I am sure the Germans have put together a good diesel engine and like you said they probably are cheaper in the US than they are here. Looking forward to seeing how Robertstr puts it all together. Sorry Robertstr if I sounded a little bit of a rivet counter because I am...

Re: Mercedes 3.0L turbo engine Conversion
Hey mate why don't you have a look at the Isuzu Diesel that was factory fitted to the Aussie Stage One's. It is pretty close to a straight swap for the 3.5 V8. Google "Land Rover Stage One Isuzu Diesel" and check it out. Fuel economy is close to what you are looking at and I imagine that p...

Re: The Disc Brake Conversion
Fitting Wolf rims is not a downside in my opinion. Those rims are seriously tough rims and allow a much better choice of tyres. I run Wolf rims and wouldn't go back to original spec rims. My Wolfs are fitted with Kumho Venture 285/75/16's and these tyres are so much more comfortable to drive than th...

Re: Hello from Northumberland
Welcome aboard Neil. Very tidy looking Stage One Ute. I have one that looks very similar but a lighter colour blue. It looks to be in good condition from your photo's. What year is it? As far as the gearbox noise goes, they can be a bit noisy even when they are in reasonable condition. Is there a lo...

Re: The Disc Brake Conversion
Hi Spen, Just wondering if you have had the chance to test drive the Stagey with the disk brakes fitted? Also thought it would be good to post something on the forum to generate some life as it has been very quite the last 2 weeks. Hasn't anyone done anything to their Stage One, been anywhere or got...
