Re: Toy/ model

I have been looking for one for years, without success. I even tried to persuade Oxford Diecast to make one, frustrated by their producing it seems every other conceivable variant of Land Rover in every known livery but stubbornly ignoring the Stage One. But they seem to have taken no notice of my e...

Re: Southern Electric Stage 1 V8s

Appears to have sold pretty quickly, so presumably fetched somewhere in the region of the asking price?: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Series-3-109-Stage-1-V8-/113706127792?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=js7JdMfP0grXSQGI9IYRQK%252BDaxY%253D&orig_cvip=true&no...

Re: Southern Electric Stage 1 V8s

Ah, I did actually wonder. [Alan, I'll take it your request is addressed to the author - and copyright holder! (or you could buy an online copy :) )]

Re: Southern Electric Stage 1 V8s

There's an article in the most recent issue of CLR about an ex-SEB 2A 6-cylinder One-Ton 109 that still has its hydraulic winch.

Re: Heat shields

Just a footnote on the Series 3 parts book - this time the Optional Equipment Parts Catalogue actually (for which I forked out nearly £17 for a paper copy because the only online copy I could find was unreadable) - it doesn't have a diagram of the heater pipes and hoses for the V8 - it has detailed ...

Re: Heat shields

... then I'm glad I don't have to deal with them. Now that I know what I'm looking for, I had a more thorough look down there amongst the rust with torch and mirror and find I do have the requisite shields on the RH manifolds of both my vehicles after all. They're ERC5875, not the ERC5786 I saw abou...

Re: Heat shields

Thanks. Had another look at the parts book. They turned the manifold in the bottom diagram on page 1F 09 though 180 degrees, presumably to show the fixings' location better, so I thought it was the LH manifold following the same layout as on the manifolds page 1F 08  (would have helped if they...

Heat shields

Can anyone tell me what the heat shields in the parts book are supposed to be for? I don't have any and can't say, in 21 years, I've noticed the lack of. In particular, why does the book only show one for the non detoxed engine on the LH exhaust manifold, and only one for the detoxed engine on the R...
