Re: Gumtree again

I'd go and have a look at it - if it wasn't in Australia.

Re: Cheshire Fire Brigade Stage 1 V8

Googling it, I found a photo of a Stage One fire tender DMB 902X with Cheshire Fire Service on this page - scroll down to find it - I didn't read but looked like might be some info there:

Re: Wanted... Windscreen glass Sundym

You might as well ask for the Holy Grail. I have one Sundym windscreen (badly chipped) left of four, and have been looking out for Sundym replacements for years. The only possibility I have heard of, unless you're very lucky to stumble upon any surviving original glass (and windscreens tend to get b...

Re: Steering relay.

There is supposed to be an aftermarket, bespoke conversion for a handful of armoured Land-Rovers used in Northern Ireland. I understand this utilised most of the original steering system and not the usual chassis chop 110/Disco conversion typically seen today. Ah, I remember a reference to this in ...

Re: Steering relay.

I'm pretty sure not, but I'm loathe to ever give any absolutely definitive answer to anything Land Rover anymore. map's sure to know.

Re: Steering relay.

Where, when, how much? Just curious as I've a spare used one. Craddocks have it listed for £475 + VAT but I don't suppose for a moment they actually have one or can get one.

Re: Stage 1 TDi Station Wagon

Hi and welcome. Good luck with it (I saw it listed on ebay)- nice to see an abused Stage One to be returned to a proper V8. If you open a free flickr account and upload your photos there, you can choose the size of photo you post on here when you copy and paste the BB Code for the photo from there t...

Re: Paint code

Well, James Taylor said it, not me. He could be wrong (it's not unknown) I note 164 says above that "There are a number of areas of white visible in the interior & under the bonnet of my sister vehicle & it’s definitely a gloss finish." So that fits with what you say is the industry standard. If it ...

Re: Paint code

In his Land Rover Series 3 Specification Guide, James Taylor states, "Vehicles supplied for finishing elsewhere (for example, by conversion specialists) left the factory with the body panels finished in Primer, which was a matt white undercoat." He makes no mention of arctic white, as a standard col...

Re: Gumtree again

Bought by someone for ram raiding? And what are those things mounted on the bull bar? - rocket/grenade launchers?? (And none of my front vents have ever leaked - perhaps some new seals instead?!)
