Re: Carb/vacuum piping

Thanks for the response on my question. Now I'm still thinking what to do with the other 2 vacuum connections that remain open. I still have one open on the right hand carb (viewed from inside LHD car  ) and one on the inlet manifold just under the water outlet pipe which goes to the top of th...

Carb/vacuum piping

Hi guys It's been a while since I've posted here but found my way back to this forum. Finally after almost 3 years of hard work, the stagey is back on the road but it's still not running very well. Engine has been fully rebuilt with a new crower cam. Compression is perfect but it's still missing som...

SU carbs

Hello, I can buy a pair of new SU carbs including a manifold for a very nice price. Buy these carbs have the automatic choke (FASD) system. Is it possible to USD this on a stage one? Another question about my ignition, I've switched to an electronic distributor from a RRC 3.5 efi. I'm running a diff...

My old distributor is worn and because of this I can't setup it properly. Some people advised me to tak...

Oil mixed with fuel!

Hello

Just continued working on my engine (taking it apart and check everything and where necessary replace items). I drained the oil and I saw that it was a mixture of oil and fuel (I can really smell the petrol in it).

Anyone has an idea how this is possible?

Cheers

I would love to get another look at that bulkhead in 5+ years. I have no idea how well the body putty will stick to the galvy. All the paint and other stuff for the body protection comes from the company where my neighbor works. It's an professional paint store and I'm sure if he gives this to me i...

Had some sort of a bad start this week, on monday I trashed the rear differential of my Defender 90 and on tuesday I got my right foot broken :( . Hi guys, Had a nice weekend with a lot of sun and good temperatures to work on my project. Started saturday morning with the preparation of the galvanised chassis for painting. Also covered some parts of the axles to paint the wheel hubs. http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h399/Christophe_Gerrits/C...

the zinc will still work if the paint is damaged and inside the chassis, the paint just adds another layer of protection 8)

From now on I will keep you updated with pictures. Hope to have a rolling chassis again within a few weeks.
The galvanising for chassis and bulkhead was 200 Euro, what I think is a very good price. For this project I only want the best of the best, really want a 'new' car when it's finished.

Now I can start to rebuild everything again. The axles are almost finished, I put all new seals, bearings, bushes and greased ever...
