Re: Bumper

Yes that last photo does look very neat. But as to the first two, with the separate mounting brackets, I would say the bottom bracket has been fitted upside down. Also, the long bolts are only really necessary where they have to go through the chassis rails, and I think those two you can see in the...

Re: Bumper

My guess is that models up to 1980/81 (when many changes came in to effect) have the separate brackets and the later models had the integral type. Any Y reg owners out there with integral bumper brackets or am I the only one? Is this what you mean? My front bumper used to be mounted like so (note t...

where to mount the heater control valve

A while ago I was able to obtain an original heater control valve. I'd like to fit it, esp. now that the cooling system has been drained anyway to repair the radiator (I must've hit it while working on the car, without even noticing it and out came a small stream of cooling liquid. The repair shop c...

Re: introduction

If you could put up some picutures of the rear door windows that would be a great help. This is the next job on the list as I want to try and make Alice water tight  for the winter as she is stood outside. Sure! Like I said, I decided to use the rocky mountain spares window tracks for the seco...

Re: Show me your consoles!

I concur: I also installed the auxiliary dash panel using the components from http://www.classiclandrover.co.uk/# Sad to see he had to shutdown the original website... Anyway, this is what I did with the panels - I ordered the wide, blank front panel, he base panel and the side panels, for a custom ...

Re: introduction

One question - what do you think of the Rocky Mountain door tops? as I need to replace mine and I was thinking of fitting a pair. I can heartily recommend these doortops! They fit very well and are very stiff! I had couple of cans spray-paint "mixed" by a local car repair shop, where they...

Hi, I've been lurking on this forum on and off for about two years now. I'm somewhat active on two Land Rover fora in the Netherlands, but since this one, dedicated to the Stage-1, provided me with very useful information too, I thought to say 'Hi!'. Two years ago we fell in love with our Stage 1. W...
